Khau Pha Pass Yen Bai Province is a craggy-the longest pass of national way No.32, it is one of the longest 4 passes in the North-West-East of Vietnam within 30km long. Khau Pha mountain pass is one of the most winding and steep roads in Vietnam. The pass locates in the border area between Van Chan district and Mu Cang Chai district of Yen Bai province, Khau Pha pass goes through many famous places such as La Pan Tan, Mu Cang Chai, Tu Le, Che Cu Nha. The pass locates at an altitude of 1,200m to 1,500m above sea level. The name of this peak in the Thai people’s language means “Heaven Horn” because the mountain peaks often emerge in the middle of the cloud-like horn. The Khau Pha pass starts at the intersection of Highway 32 with Highway 279 on the way to Cheo Pass in front of it and Vach Kim Pass and behind on Route 32. From Yen Bai city, up to Highway 32 about 5 hours, through Tu Le commune, Khau Pha pass, Mu Cang Chai district appears in the middle of a plateau surrounded by identical mountains.
