The silent village: After leaving the noisy streets, we can come to immerse ourselves in the peaceful green space, where the shadows of Thai girls are looming, watching the houses on stilts or listening to the shuttle… in Ban Hole. In particular, this place also has hot mineral water springs, attracting a large number of people to bathe.
Amidst the bright yellow sunlight, the village appears with the folds of houses on stilts hidden in the ripe longan garden. From afar, we can also hear the sound of weaving and Thai girls in national costumes sitting on the door frame.
The road to Ban Hoc hot spring has also been renovated to make it easier to go, with public baths, saunas, and massages. The mineral springs here have an average temperature of 50-60 degrees Celsius. Researchers have confirmed that the hot springs here have high dissolved minerals, which are good for nourishing and treating skin diseases. Not only that, when coming here, we can also discover the unique culture of the Thai ethnic group: Xoe dance, stall dance, hat dance…
Special food in Hoc Village: In the evening, we can sit around the fire of Ban Hoc’s stilt house, and enjoy lam rice and spring fish, grilled stream moss, and forest vegetable soup prepared by the people here. Every time the hostess raises the cup, the host sings an invitation to wine that no one can refuse. Late at night, the old people in the village will sing to you about the immortal love history of the Black Thai people “Farewell to the lover", “The sister, the younger sister", the story of Mr. Cam Hanh fighting against the Yellow Flag…
Cultural and artistic activities are often held in Ban Hoc. It is a traditional culture that has been preserved and propagated by artisans for a long time. In recent years, Yen Bai province has also cooperated with the People’s Committee of Van Chan district to survey and build Ban Hoc into a cultural reserve with characteristics of the Black Thai village in the Northwest.
