The tour program has been so well-arranged that all the important places of interest in this region can be visited within one day. From the tranquil Vĩnh Tràng Pagoda, we will move on to a cruise in the Mekong River—the itinerary is full of the best activities. You will take a tour around the local villages, freshening up with some taste of fresh tropical fruits, strolling around in the orchards – full of life – continuing with a tender and peaceful cruise on a sampan along the narrow canals, then back to the city by 5:00 PM.

Departing at 7:45 AM from Ho Chi Minh City, we’ll leave this bustling urban landscape to go further toward the peaceful and serene area of the Mekong Delta. The drive in itself is a beautiful transition from city life to the serene countryside and gives you a feel for the lush greenery that abounds in the Delta. First, we stopped over at Mỹ Tho, a fine town on the left bank of the majestic Mekong River.
At 8:45 AM, we will visit the historic Vĩnh Tràng Pagoda, the most beautiful and important temple in the region. Constructed in the 19th century, this pagoda represented an architectural masterpiece; it forms a harmonious combination of Asian and European architectures. With lush gardens around, the atmosphere in the pagoda is always tranquil and perfect for a morning visit. You can take some time to study the intricate carvings and statues, get a decent history of the pagoda itself, and soak up the serene environment before we press on.
9:30 AM: Drive to the Mekong River and board a local motorized boat. You will enjoy a relaxing cruise on this mighty waterway, viewing vibrant floating markets and quaint fishing villages. As you cruise along the river, you will see daily life passing by, with these folk having their lives seemingly programmed with the水ways. This cruise will give us the chance to see four famous islets named after four sacred animals: Long, which means Dragon; Lân, meaning Unicorn; Quy, for Tortoise; and Phụng, for Phoenix.
Vinh Trang Pagoda
It is here at, roughly at 10:00 AM, that we will drop our very first anchor. Take off on a stroll through colorful village paths inlaid with mixed greens and exuberant fruit orchards. You en Lân Isletjoy fresh tropical fruit picked right from trees—rambutans, mangosteens, durians. This will be complemented by a traditional Đờn ca tài tử performance that is recognized by UNESCO as the intangible cultural heritage of the Mekong Delta. By 11:30 AM, we will embark on small traditional sampans to discover the Thới Sơn narrow canals.
