1. Overview:
Thuy Tien Cave is a destination not to be missed by tourists when visiting and enjoying the beauty of Thac Ba lake, Yen Binh district, Yen Bai province.
Legend has it that Prince Trong Hai was the son of King Thuy Te, while walking on the Chay River, he saw a cool high mountain.
2. Legendary Story:
As if having a strange attraction, the prince went to the mountain and met Princess Thuy Tien, one of the 9 beautiful princesses of the Jade Emperor, because he was fascinated by the scenery of Thac Ba – Chay river often escaped to the world. When their love blossomed and could not be separated, King Thuy Te and Ngoc Hoang created this cave together for the prince and princess to live happily.
3. Exploration:
Exploring Thuy Tien cave, visitors can see right in the center of the cave is the palace in the legendary story with 3 stone columns out of 9 total stone columns of the cave. Near the ventilation door is an eagle made from stalactites which, according to legend, is an eagle assigned by Ngoc Hoang to take Princess Thuy Tien to heaven when there is something to be ordered. Going further is to the palace of Prince Trong Hai, where there is the 4th stone pillar of the cave. It’s special, when tapped, it will sound like a gong.
In the prince’s palace, two stalactites flow straight down and next to them are heart-shaped stalactites. Those two stalactites are the advice of the king: “Doing everything must be straightforward and serious." The heart shape is the mother’s advice: “Whatever you do, you need to have a heart"
The most prominent feature in the palace of Princess Thuy Tien is the stalactite hanging down into the shape of an arm, according to legend, it is the arm of the prince.
