Nam Khat is not only famous for terraced fields, but Mu Cang Chai also has many potential places to exploit eco-tourism such as That Mo tourist area, Nam Khat hot spring, and mountain climbing areas in Pung Luong and Nam Khat communes… Mu Cang Chai is home to a large number of Mong people, creating a unique folklore identity.
Nam Khat is a poor commune in a remote mountainous area, with rugged terrain, sparse population, and affected by natural disasters, storms, and floods… However, in recent years, Nam Khat commune (Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province) ) has always tried to strive, raise awareness as well as implement work to soon turn the locality into the first new rural standard commune (NTM) of the poor district of Mu Cang Chai and have achieved certain results.
Nam Khat commune is a highland commune, 30km away from the district center. The commune has a total natural area of 11,876.18 ha, of which: agricultural land is 1547.39 ha, forestry land: is 7,444.73 ha, and the rest is other land. Visit Hang La cave (Pu Cang village). Standing at the entrance of the cave, I saw the cool breeze blowing up, and glimpses of magical and vivid stalactites. Inside the cave, there is a set of stone tables and chairs, as proof that people once lived there. According to him, the old people in the village said that this place used to be a place to stay and discuss with resistance cadres.
Not far from Hang La cave, interspersed between the green rice fields that are on the rise, right next to the small clear and cool streams, strangely, underground hot springs emerge. These hot springs, called temperate springs, are formed when water flows through an area where lava exists very deep underground. Hot water is good for healing. However, the hot springs here have just been discovered and are located in the middle of the field, so they have not been adequately planned and invested.
Just a few dozen kilometers away, Ngoc Chien commune, Muong La, Son La had many tourist groups stop by, and stay, just to be immersed in this precious hot spring. Nam Khat will welcome tourists to enjoy hot springs in the near future.
