The first major stop: is the Flower Garden, where local flora thrives. Practical Tips and Useful Information for the Hoc Mon Eco-tourism Park Walking Tour
Best Time to Visit
The best time for taking in Hoc Mon Eco-tourism Park on a walking tour would be when the temperatures are in their low range; that is, between November and February. The humidity will be pretty low at that period, and so is the temperature at its lowest. That makes the park just fine this time of the year; clear sky with refreshing breeze.
This is highly advisable to be done early in the morning, that is, between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM, for one to get a feel of the whole park without the trouble of the midday sun and the assembling of bigger crowds later in the day. During these hours, not only is the temperature cool, but the light of day is just right for photography enthusiasts who want to shoot the splendor of the landscapes.
What to Bring
Ready yourself and make the most out of the walking tour at Hoc Mon Eco-tourism Park walking tour. First of all, wear your comfortable shoes because you will be bracing different paths, and you need to feel your feet supported for the event. Take along a bottle of water to keep you refreshed, especially on warmer days. A hat and sunscreen are required because there are both open, sunny areas of the park, as well as those areas that provide some welcome shade.
Also, don’t forget the camera or a smartphone! There is so much to see that you may want to take pictures for remembering times spent traveling.
Health and Safety Tips
Safety and health concerns must be put into consideration during this walking tour in Ho Chi Minh City, especially in nature-like settings such as the Hoc Mon Ecological Park. Wear light and breathable attire that will keep you cool throughout your time on your walk. If you feel you don’t get used to the heat, try to take more breaks in the shade and drink water frequently throughout the tour.
Also, while generally, the paths in the garden are quite well-maintained, it is always good to watch your step when in natural areas, especially in the proximity of the lake and on uneven grounds. Keeping oneself hydrated and taking things at one’s pace ensures not to overexert but to enjoy oneself.

Day 02
HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR AND CU CHI TUNNELS
Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. We will visit the following places of interest:
The Reunification Palace: Here on April 30th, 1975 the Vietnam War officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam.
War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit is particularly touching, dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict. The courtyard outside contains the spoils of war, namely rusting jets, tanks and cannons captured from the American military machine.
Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in its creation was shipped from France to Vietnam. Her two 40m towers, topped with iron spires dominate the city’s skyline. The Old Post Office is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office.
Jade Emperor Pagoda: Building in 1909 in honor of the supreme Taoist god, this is one of the most spectacularly atmospheric temples in HCMC, stuffed with statues of phantasmal divinities and grotesque heroes. The pungent smoke of incense fills the air, obscuring the exquisite woodcarvings.
Cu Chi Tunnels: Watch a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. Also, on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those interested there’s even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range
