4:00 PM – 5:30 PM: Introduction to Terraced Rice Fields.

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Trek to Mam Xoi Viewpoint.
Afternoon: We start our hike up to the famous Mam Xoi viewpoint, which is one of the most stunning viewpoints in Mu Cang Chai. On this hike, you’ll experience blue skies over the rice terraces, while the viewpoint has been named for looking like a tray of sticky rice. This is a very nice point from which to take photos, allowing one to capture just how big and beautiful it is out there in this terraced landscape.
3:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Visit to a Dao Village
The few days that will be spent trekking may have some arrangements to finally see human habitation with a highly recommended stop with a walking tour around one of the Dao villages. The Dao people have a distinctive tradition of having their heads covered in red headgear. Their clothes are usually beautifully hand-sewn, so close that they look intricate to the eye. Well, you will be shown their Dao craftwork, mainly related to the textile arts. The Dao women are excellent at embroidery and mostly come up with beautiful, sophisticated patterns that they pass down through their family lines. You may get a chance to view the handiwork being done and maybe purchase a few pieces of handmade prods for remembrance.
4:30 PM – 6:00 PM: Return to the Homestay and Rest.
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Dinner with Dao Delicacies.
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM: Storytelling Session with a Dao Elder.
Enjoy a storytelling session by a Dao elder, who will share with you some rare stories concerning the ancient myths and legends of the ethnic people, which have been orally passed since ancient times.
