Overview:

Thao Cam Vien – Saigon Zoo & Botanical Gardens is a famous tourist attraction in Saigon, attracting a large number of tourists to visit every day. This place is one of the oldest amusement parks in Vietnam, and also the largest animal and plant conservation park in Saigon.

History of the Botanical Garden:

From the wild land, Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden experienced many ups and downs, still exist for 157 years with many historical vestiges, and is one of the 10 oldest zoos in the world.

In 1864, the French government built the Zoo in Saigon and sent a veterinarian to expand 12 hectares of wasteland in the northeast of the Thi Nghe canal to make a place to raise animals and nurse plants. In March of the following year (1865) this place initially formed several barns.

At the end of 1865, the Zoo in Saigon was expanded to 20 hectares. By 1869, open to the public.

Since 1984, many new construction items have been built. By 2000, the area of animal cages had increased to 25,000 square meters

2. Ride on the tram – Train

To visit the park more easily and without getting tired, you should buy train or tram tickets near the ticket control gate at Le Duan street gate. The car will take you slowly through the park and enjoy watching the animals.

3. Experience the “high" thrilling games

To meet the entertainment needs of young people, the Ho Chi Minh City Zoo and Botanical Garden tourist area also has more adventurous and thrilling games.

4. Go to the zoo to observe rare animals

Zoo and Botanical Garden is a famous zoo with many rare animals. The zoo here is divided into many different areas such as carnivores, mammals, reptiles, herbivores, birds, small animals… At 3 pm every day, in the carnivorous area, there is also a presentation activity. Show wild hunting skills of animals such as lions, white Bengal tigers, and Indochinese tigers are very interesting.

Day 02

Ho Chi Minh City tour & Cu Chi Tunnels (B,L)

Visit the most attractive places in Ho Chi Minh City: The Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, The Reunification Palace, The War Remnants Museum, Ben Thanh market.
Have lunch, then transfer to visit Cu Chi Tunnels. First, we watch a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. Also, on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500-pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those interested, there’s even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range

Day 03

Ho Chi Minh city – Mekong delta – Can Tho (B, L)

A two hour’s drive from Ho Chi Minh city to My Tho
Taking a sampan cruise along the tributaries of the Mekong River for a close-up view of local life.
Wandering through Islands and orchards where you can taste some of the huge variety of tropical fruits and listening to traditional music.
Having a local lunch then riding a bicycle around the local village. Taking a sampan back to the harbor for the 2 hour drive to Can Tho city
Checking in to our hotel and then the evening is free to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 04

Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh city (B, L)

We start the boat trip before 08:00 am otherwise we may not see the busiest and most exciting time on the floating market. We will take a boat trip and explore the vibrant floating market of Cai Rang, where the way of trading is unique; each boat usually sells one particular item, whether it be pumpkins, pineapples or sugar canes, etc.
We lunch at a local restaurant on the way back to Saigon via My Tho

Day 05

HO CHI MINH– FAREWELL ( B )

Enjoy your time at leisure.
