Architectural Highlights: A Fusion of French and Asian Influences
Dragon Wharf is an architectural marvel that combines French colonial design with traditional Vietnamese elements. Probably the first thing to catch your eye at the wharf is its iconic roof, in which two intricately carved dragons face each other, symbolizing harmony and strength justifiably giving the wharf the name it has. Carrying out this Ho Chi Minh tours provides an immediate view of French architectural grace with Vietnamese symbols intermingled within for a beautiful and meaningful cultural combination. The wide, arched windows, huge great pillars, and serene interior instill hope that the exhibits themselves are as impressive, making the architecture of Dragon Wharf a highlight in its own right.
Panoramic Views of the Saigon River
Stepping out, you catch the stunning view of the Saigon River, a beautiful backdrop that simply adds to the thrill of your visit. The river is quiet, stretching endlessly; thus, being there would be a man of a moment shot and a time for reflection upon the historic importance of the site. It can almost be envisioned that Ho Chi Minh stood right here, gazing down at the river as he prepared to take his journey for freedom. This part of our Historical City Tours captures this sense of reflection within history, making this experience meaningful.

Best Time to Visit and Dress Code
The best time for a Ho Chi Minh tours would be from December to March when the weather is cooler. The temperature is better, along with the humidity, and the rainy days are minimal. It is a good time for outdoor historical site visits. Even during the dry season, however, it would be advisable to wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen against intense heat from the sun, especially during the middle of the day.
Dress comfortably but respectfully. Modesty is appreciated within Vietnamese culture, especially at all cultural and religious sites. Light and breathable clothes are recommended, though not the shortest of shorts and/or tank tops while visiting religious places. The tour will call for a great amount of walking; hence, a comfortable walking shoe will be your best friend on this tour.
How to Reach Dragon Wharf
It will be easy and accessible to get to Dragon Wharf from most areas in Ho Chi Minh City. From District 1, you can access Dragon Wharf with a short taxi ride or an enjoyable walk. Important Tour Etiquette
Understanding the local etiquette is a sign of great respect when one goes to visit any historical or cultural site. Certain basic etiquette during such a visit are mentioned below.
Be respectful of your surroundings. No loud talking, particularly inside museums and places of worship.
Photography is welcome however, special areas, especially museums, may not allow any pictures, or at least, permission will have to be granted. Most always watch for signs, or ask your guide about any restrictions on photography.
Safety tips: Ho Chi Minh City is generally a very safe city, but always pay special attention to your belongings and try not to bring anything valuable on the tour with you. Day 02
HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR AND CU CHI TUNNELS
Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. We will visit the following places of interest:
The Reunification Palace: Here on April 30th, 1975 the Vietnam War officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam.
War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit is particularly touching, dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict. The courtyard outside contains the spoils of war, namely rusting jets, tanks and cannons captured from the American military machine.
Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in its creation was shipped from France to Vietnam. Her two 40m towers, topped with iron spires dominate the city’s skyline. The Old Post Office is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office.
Jade Emperor Pagoda: Building in 1909 in honor of the supreme Taoist god, this is one of the most spectacularly atmospheric temples in HCMC, stuffed with statues of phantasmal divinities and grotesque heroes. The pungent smoke of incense fills the air, obscuring the exquisite woodcarvings.
Cu Chi Tunnels: Watch a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. Also, on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those interested there’s even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range
