The climate of Mu Cang Chai is of a distinct sub-regions in the northwest of Vietnam. The average temperature is 190C, there are four seasons in Mu Cang Chai (Spring, summer, autumn, winter), the cool in summer, and the cold in winter. It is well-known as “the land of clouds, high mountains, and deep ravines". The system of streams and rivers of Mu Cang Chai is quite dense, running along national highway 32, Nam Kim, the largest and only stream of the district flowing in the direction Southeast – Northwest. Nam Kim’s water is flowing all year round, dividing Mu Cang Chai district into two parts (the left bank and the right bank), bringing unique and romantic beauty to the mountainous area of the northwest of Vietnam. Besides, Mu Cang Chai has many small streams such as Nam Hu, Nam Mu, Nam Muoi, Nam Co, Nam Pang, Nam Khat, and Nam Khot … contributing to a cool and fresh climate. Along the system of streams and rivers is a series of multi-tiered waterfalls, famous as Nam Mo Waterfall (Mo De), De Thang (Che Cu Nha. Travelers can enjoy the great view from the white water of the waterfall.
