For a long time, Vietnamese tea drinking culture has become one of the most beautiful and impressive images. In particular, Hanoi’s tea culture at alleys, bus stations, sidewalks,… makes visitors excited. The article below is about interesting things that many foreign tourists can know about this culture and suggests some tea restaurants that they must definitely try.
Hanoi’s tea drinking culture
Hanoi’s tea
Tea has the ability to stimulate work and bring joy, it helps to reduce the rate of having respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Moreover, it has the ability to inhibit and prevent the development of cancer cells because tea contains a medicinal property called ECGC (Epigallocatechin gallate), a substance with anti-cancer properties.
Tea is consumed by Vietnamese people all year long, throughout their lives, from street stalls to family teapots to luxury restaurants. Sipping is the beginning of meetings and conversations between close friends, of sudden exchanges that turn strangers into friends.
The freshly poured tea has a fresh yellow-green color, the scent of it fills the room and when you taste, the bitter taste behind it seems to reveal the hardship and meticulousness in the labor process of creating it. As for the sweet taste that is always hidden, it is the soul of our people, valuing love and loyalty.
Tea is considered a confidant of people when they have confidence, whether happy or sad. Enjoying Hanoi’s tea as a habit has been deeply embedded in the daily activities of Vietnamese people in the past and at that time. Tea not only serves to quench thirst, but it also helps purify the body and soul of the tea drinker.
Every Vietnamese family, whether modern or traditional, owns a set of teapots. In everyday life, we often use a cup of tea to invite guests to show the homeowner’s warm welcome, warmth, and respect for the guest visiting the house.
