Overview: Hon But is a small island located on the route to Cua Van fishing village, about 1 hour by train from Cat Ba island. Hon Chuong is also known as Chuong Islet, Bap Chuoi Islet, and Candle Islet.
The island is a large limestone block, which has been eroded by the waves to create a cleft palate, making it an ideal place for free climbing. The starting point of the climbing route is relatively easy and short, going up high with walls to jump. If you want to climb to the top, you should climb the traditional way. To the southeast of Hon But there is a cliff capable of climbing DWS very well in a vertical direction.
Name of Island: Hon But – The name is associated with the image of a giant pen on the sea in the middle of Lan Ha Bay (south of Ha Long Bay), located very close to Cat Ba Island. On the way to Ba Trai Dao island, visitors will encounter familiar and interesting images of rocks in the sea.
How to get there: It only takes about 30 minutes by boat through Con Coc island to reach Hon But, on the way to Ba Trai Dao island, visitors will see a pen-shaped rock island floating on the immense sea. This is the “monument" of knowledge that the Mother Dragon wants to send back to today’s generations. With the advantage of profound human values handed down to this day, it has brought many attractions and curiosity to visitors when visiting Ha Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay. Not far from Hon But, there is a very beautiful and clean small beach, so if you have a need to swim, you can anchor your boat here.
