Braving the market can be a bit of an adventure. Vendors are friendly and usually happy to chat, so this is a great place to pick up information about different types of flowers and what they mean in Vietnamese culture. If you do go to buy flowers, get there early in the morning when the market is at its freshest and most colorful. Be prepared to haggle, and if you buy some flowers, ask for advice on the best way of taking care of them.

Ho Thi Ky is not all about flowers; the surrounding area also fills up with small food stalls selling Vietnamese snacks and drinks, adding to the hubbub of the place. An altogether different shopping experience awaits one in the city’s art galleries and craft shops. Here, one can lend support to local artisans by purchasing unique pieces that vividly capture the best of Vietnam’s rich artistic tradition.

Popular ones include the Fine Arts Museum, which showcases and sells the works of local artists; and smaller galleries like Craig Thomas Gallery and Galerie Quynh, where a more modern take on Vietnamese art can be found. Buyers looking for traditional crafts can visit shops around Ben Thanh Market and along Dong Khoi Street selling a variety of items – from lacquerware products to embroidered cloths.

However, the shopping done in these galleries and craft shops is not just about buying something but about engaging with artists and understanding the stories behind the creation. However, buying real Vietnamese arts and handicrafts supports local talent and is part of sustainable tourism, promoting their traditional skills. That’s an enriching and meaningful addition to your Shopping Tours in Ho Chi Minh City experience, perfect for travelers seeking unique memoirs.

Practical Tips for Shopping Tours in Ho Chi Minh City

Shopping in Ho Chi Minh City can be quite an adventurous experience, but having a few insider tips up one’s sleeve can make it so much easier. Here’s some practical etiquette for helping you shop like a local and for Shopping Tours in Ho Chi Minh City around busy markets or chic malls:

Shopping Tours in Ho Chi Minh City – Tips on the Best Shopping Times and Avoiding Crowds

If you want to get the best out of the Ho Chi Minh Tours, shop in the least busy hours of the day. For markets such as Ben Thanh and Binh Tay, shopping early in the day just before 8 or 9 am is ideal, since during this time the vendors are just setting up and you can avoid all the chaos that always arises later during the day. For malls such as Vincom Center and Takashimaya, avoid the weekend; come any weekday before midday for a more laid-back experience. Try to avoid weekends and late afternoons, when the malls and markets get crowded with locals and tourists alike.

How to Bargain Effectively in Markets

Haggling is par for the course during shopping in Ho Chi Minh City, particularly at the ever-colorful traditional markets. Soften them with interest, have a smile, and start at around 50 percent lower than the quoted price, then work up appealingly. Do ensure it’s matter-of-fact, friendly, and a smile goes a long way. And if the vendor doesn’t want to budge, that’s just fine there are plenty of other stalls selling similar items. Remember, the goal is to enjoy the interaction and get a fair deal!

Payment Methods, Currency Tips, and Dealing with Local Vendors

Cash is always preferred by most local vendors, and hence you are being advised to carry enough VND while shopping at any random stop. Most large stores and malls do take credit cards, but it’s not likely that small shops or markets do so. Always check your change, as dealing with bagful amounts of notes can get confusing. Also, it will be very helpful to learn a few Vietnamese phrases, for example, “Bao nhiêu," to help smoothen your experience.

Conclusion

From iconic markets like Ben Thanh to the luxury of Vincom Center and quirky spots like Book Street, Ho Chi Minh City is a vibrant shopping haven. Each place gives a sneak peek into the vivacious shopping culture of the place, making Shopping Tours in Ho Chi Minh City unmissable. Dive into the most diversified retail scenes of Saigon, where every street, market, and mall speaks its own story. Prepare for your personalized adventure. You feel like organized tour, but you are in a privet tour. Impress Travel make the different.

We went on a private trip to Vietnam and Cambodia, the whole trip plan was organized for us by the Impress Travel Company from Vietnam, the company did an amazing job, the whole trip was organized in a wonderful way with an amazing match between the various parties, their choices were correct and the quality of the hotels chosen were very high quality and it is important to note that the price was low in comparison To other agencies, thanks to Impress Travel and especially to Daniel who was tolerant and open to changes and organized the route for us.

Tour of Vietnam

Impress travel were amazing. Did my bookings with Daniel for our tour of Vietnam and I must say Daniel was very professional and prompt with his services. All the arrangement, plans, pick-up & drop-off services, hotels, vehicles, sightseeing tours and guides were spot on and excellent. Did 4 nights Hanoi, 1 night Hà Long Bay cruise, 3 nights Hoian, 4 nights Saigon and 1 night in Can Tho. It was totally awesome. Every part of the journey was superbly arranged and planned. I will highly recommend Impress Travel for anyone interested in visiting Vietnam. Very organized and reliable!

The tour was fantastic

I booked with Impress Travel in July. My contact person was Tommy Thang. He is an amazing person. He was very helpful. He changed my program twice for me. Very accommodating!
We started our holiday in the north (Sapa)of Vietnam and travelled down to HCMC.
The tour was fantastic, Tommy's arrangements were to the"T".
I will always use them if I have to visit the area again and recommend them to one and all.
Thank you once again Mr.Tommy and the Impress Team.

Great value for money with 4 stars hotel

Great value for money with 4 stars hotel accommodation for 4 couples. The tour guide has been very helpful and brought us to amazing places in Sapa. We want to thanks Thuy the tour guide and especially Mark from Impress Travel for his great service and assurance throughout our trip. We’ll definitely use his service for other tour packages in other parts of Vietnam.

We enjoyed our holiday with Impress travel

This is the second time we travel to Vietnam with IMPRESS Travel. First time, we booked our holiday to Hanoi, Halong Bay & Sapa during Dec 2018 with Impress.
Second time, we travel to Hoi An, Hue & Danang (Central Vietnam) during Jan 2019.

My friends & I are very glad & happy with all the hotels stay in Central Vietnam, the meals provided are delicious. We are greatly appreciated with all the tour arrangement by Tommy & his team (tour guide).
Especially, Mr. NHAT C.V. He is helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable and very professional. He always volunteer to take a nice pictures for six of us (group) .

We enjoyed our holiday with Impress travel. We will definitely come back to Vietnam again with Impress
