You know the name Thach Xa, a village located in the heart of the capital has long been famous for making bamboo dragonfly toys. Not only a craft village, Thach Xa bamboo dragonfly village is an attractive tourist destination that attracts a lot of young people in Hanoi at weekends.
Location:
Bamboo dragonfly craft village in Thach Xa commune, Thach That district, Hanoi is located right at the foot of Tay Phuong pagoda. Thach That is an ancient land with a long historical and cultural tradition. Not only dragonfly village, there are 50 craft villages here, of which 10 craft villages are recognized as “traditional craft villages".
You may not know, Thach Xa is one of many traditional villages in Hanoi with more than 20 years of doing dragonfly craft with exquisite products made from the skillful hands of folk artisans Phung Xa.
History:
Van Phuc silk village was formerly known as Van Bao. Because of the Nguyen Dynasty, the village was renamed Van Phuc. In 1931, for the first time, Van Phuc Ha Dong silk was promoted to the international market at the Marseille fair and was considered by the French as one of the most sophisticated and beautiful silk lines of Indochina. By 1958, Van Phuc silk was exported to Eastern European countries and so far Ha Dong silk is popular in many countries around the world.
Over time, Van Phuc silk still retains its traditional beauty. And now, Van Phuc silk is at the forefront of Vietnam’s textile industry. Van Phuc silk is always considered beautiful and durable. Because the pattern on silk is diverse, the decoration is symmetrical, the lines are elegant and simple, bringing decisiveness and freedom to the viewer.
How to get there?
The location is about 40 km west of the center of Hanoi. Located in the suburban area of Hanoi, but the road to Thach Xa is not too difficult to find. From the center of Hanoi, you just need to follow Thang Long Boulevard for about 25km, then follow the signposts and then turn in. You can easily travel by motorbike, car or catch a bus during the day.

From the green bamboo, one of the beautiful symbols of the Vietnamese countryside. Thach Xa folk artists have created unique bamboo dragonflies. Dragonflies have many different colors, each product is a beauty of its own and the special thing is that they can be parked everywhere thanks to the principle of gravity balance without the need to attach any equipment or engines. .

Great value for money with 4 stars hotel accommodation for 4 couples. The tour guide has been very helpful and brought us to amazing places in Sapa.
