Located in Van Lam village, within the scenic Tam Coc – Bich Dong area of Ninh Binh, Thai Vi Temple is a remarkable cultural and historical site dating back to the 13th century. Built on the former Vu Lam Royal Palace, a key military base during the Tran Dynasty’s resistance against Mongol invasions, the temple honors Tran kings, generals, and Queen Thuan Thien.
The architecture is unique, with massive green stone columns intricately carved with dragons, phoenixes, and traditional motifs, creating a sense of strength and elegance. Visitors pass through grand gates, a bell tower, and a spacious stone courtyard before reaching the main sanctuary.
Every year, the Thai Vi Festival (March 14–17, lunar calendar) attracts visitors nationwide. Combining history, spirituality, and stunning surroundings, Thai Vi Temple is a must-visit highlight in any Ninh Binh tours.
