Embark on an unforgettable 6-day Mekong journey through Laos, starting in the tranquil heritage town of Luang Prabang and ending in the exotic 4000 Islands. From sacred temples and mysterious caves to elephant encounters, majestic waterfalls, and river island life, this tour captures the diverse beauty and spirit of Laos in one seamless adventure.
You will be met by our staff and transferred to your hotel. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia. The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos. We’ll visit The National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture throughout the ages; we then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi to explore the sacred, gilded stupa as well as capture a beautiful view of the city and the Mekong River at sunset. From there, we visit the Night Market, where you can browse through a lovely selection of handmade textiles. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

After breakfast, we proceed to the Adventure and Elephant camp located 15 km out of town in the middle of unspoiled, natural green surroundings. Arrival at the Elephant Village Camp, you are welcomed and greeting by the camp manager and participate in short briefing about elephants. Afterwards, we will get up close and personal with the elephant by feeding them and visit the elephant hospital, museum, gallery and dung paper making facility!
Then you will enjoy the impressive experience of being a Mahout (1person per elephant). Then, we enjoy a 2 km trek on foot through the diverse jungle landscape of our exclusive Trail of Falls. Dine in the forest surroundings with our freshly prepared picnic box lunch from our camp restaurant (vegetarian options available). After lunch, we take another 1 km trek on foot along our exclusive Trail of Falls leading up to Tad Sae Waterfall where you can relax or swim in its cool natural pools (water levels vary with seasonal conditions).
Afterwards, we take a traditional Lao long boat back to the camp and transfer back to the town in the late afternoon. The rest of the days is free at leisure. Overnight in Luang Prabang

After breakfast we head back towards Luang Prabang to enjoy a short-guided tour of the city’s oldest temple, Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong where you can see the impressive “tree of life” mosaic set in colored glass. We then board an upstream cruise on the Mekong River, which gives us a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside. We’ll make sure to stop at the Pak Ou Caves, sanctuaries consisting of two large caverns, both repositories for thousands of Buddha images. We will also stop at a few villages during the day, including Ban Muangkeo where the local rice wine is produced. We return to Luang Prabang in the afternoon after Ban Xang Khong and Ban Xieng Lek – small villages well known for silk weavings and Saa (jute) Papermaking. Overnight in Luang Prabang

Today we catch a flight to Pakse. On arrival, we head towards Don Khong Island, which is the largest island in the South Mekong river region known for having over 4000 islands. Overnight in Don Khong Island.

After an early breakfast, we explore the local villages, where you will see an array of relics from the French colonial era including an old railway and locomotive. We continue to discover the area by boat at our leisure and make sure to stop at Liphi waterfalls, one of the most beautiful in Laos. If we are lucky, we may even see the rare freshwater Irrawaddy Mekong dolphin. We return to Ban Nakasang and drive to Khone Phapheng, the largest and most famous waterfalls in South East Asia. Overnight in Khong islands.

We went on a private trip to Vietnam and Cambodia, the whole trip plan was organized for us by the Impress Travel Company from Vietnam, the company did an amazing job, the whole trip was organized in a wonderful way with an amazing match between the various parties, their choices were correct and the quality of the hotels chosen were very high quality and it is important to note that the price was low in comparison To other agencies, thanks to Impress Travel and especially to Daniel who was tolerant and open to changes and organized the route for us.
