Overview:
Hanoi Railway Station – formerly known as Hang Co Station, was built by the French and inaugurated in 1902. Over the past century, Hanoi Railway Station has always been an important transportation hub of Vietnam in general. of Hanoi capital in particular.
The station has become an important traffic hub transporting passengers and goods with 5 domestic and international railway routes, meeting the travel needs of the people of the capital and the whole country.
History:
Hanoi Railway Station was built during the French colonial period and opened in 1902 – along with the opening year of the historic Long Bien bridge, it was the largest station in Southeast Asia at that time with the name Hang Co Station.
The first station line was Hanoi – Lang Son later expanded to include the Hanoi – Hai Phong line in 1903. Since then, Hanoi Railway Station has continued to expand across the territory. Vietnam with the longest railway in the country is the North-South railway with a length of more than 1700km, also known as the Thong Nhat railway.
This place is the place to witness many historical milestones of Hanoi Capital, and also the starting place for the development of Vietnam’s railway industry after peace was restored. Today, Hanoi Railway Station has been invested with more modern facilities to serve the needs of people across the country, contributing to the development of the Vietnamese people
