After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, begin the sightseeing tour with a visit to Mahagandaryone Monastery, where food is offered to hundreds of monks, followed by the famous U Bein Wooden Bridge and the revered Mahamuni Image, a bronze Buddha believed to date back to the time of the Buddha himself. You will also explore traditional workshops including tapestry, wood carving, bronze casting, marble carving and silk weaving. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, continue to the Mandalay Palace and the exquisite Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its intricate wood carvings. Visit a gold-leaf beating workshop before heading to the Atumashi Monastery and the Kuthodaw Pagoda, renowned as the “world’s largest book.” Conclude the day with a beautiful sunset view from Mandalay Hill, offering panoramic vistas of the city.
