09:00 – 12:00: Next is the highlight of the day, the Fansipan cable car, which takes you 3,000m above sea level, one of the longest three-rope cable systems in the world. In only 15 minutes, we are above the clouds, taking us to the peak at 3,143 meters. The Hoang Lien Son mountain range presents a magical panoramic view. Even have some time to explore the spiritual complexes, ring the great bell for a good meal, and check in some nice photos on top of the rooftop in Vietnam.
12:30: After we descend, we return to town for a delicious lunch at a central Sapa restaurant.
14:00: Today is reserved for some cultural discovery. We also visit the 20th-century Stone Church of Sapa, which was constructed by the French. Then we walk around the busy Sapa Market, home to handmade ethnic textiles, silver jewelry, herbal teas and handcrafted souvenirs. This is where the town’s pulse can be felt.
17:30: Back at the hotel for a bit of down time and to think over the day’s events.
