Mu Cang Chai is a mountainous district in the west of Yen Bai province, 180km from the center of Yen Bai city, more than 300km from Hanoi capital to the northwest of Vietnam. This land lies at the foot of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, at an altitude of over 2,000 meters above sea level. Arrival in Mu Cang Chai, visitors can go to Highway 32 in two directions. If you are from Hanoi, you will go to Yen Bai, 70km from Yen Bai to Muong Lo, sleep here to drive from Muong Lo in the morning and in the afternoon to Mu Cang Chai. This section is nearly 100km long, but more than 80km is a steep pass continuously, as long as you climb to a height of 1,750m, it is coming to Mu Cang Chai town. In the middle of the pass, there is flat land, spend time here to enjoy the fragrant Tu Le sticky rice in the region. In the second direction, visitors go to the end of Noi Bai – Lao Cai highway, go to Sa Pa and pass O Quy Ho pass, then pass Tan Uyen and Than Uyen of Lai Chau to Mu Cang Chai.
