05:00 AM: Departure from Hanoi
Rise and shine! The guide will then pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi. Take a beautiful drive north to Mu Cang Chai. View the northern part of Vietnam its rolling landscapes and mountain ranges unfolding outside the window in the light of morning as the sun rises.
08:00 AM: Breakfast stop in Nghia Lo
Have breakfast in Nghia Lo, a very culturally diverse town lying in a peaceful environment. You will learn something about the history and culture of the region, then go deeper into the mountains.
11:00 AM: Arrival in Tu Le Village
Tu Le Village
We will arrive at Tu Le, a peaceful town with beautiful terraced rice fields and its natural hot springs after a leisurely drive. You will also visit a local home to catch glimpses into the peculiar process of making cốm the green rice flakes that are the special treats of this region. It is a great time to taste the special treat and take some as souvenirs home!
12:30 PM: Lunch in Tu Le
Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant, serving sticky rice, grilled pork, and seasons of fresh vegetables grown from the mountain range.
02:00 PM: Visit Lim Mong Village
Right after lunch, a soft trek to Lim Mong Village will take place, maybe one of the nicest villages in the area, as its surroundings are filled with small, terraced fields. It’s a good place for photos and becoming acquainted with the daily life of local Hmong people. You will notice the chance to walk in the terraced landscapes and get stunning shots of this so peaceful and serene village.
04:00 PM: Drive to Khau Pha Pass
After Lim Mong, proceed to Khau Pha Pass, one of the highest and most spectacular mountain passes in Vietnam. Renowned for its thrilling bends and spectacular views, this pass is an absolute favorite of adventure seekers. For those interested in more thrills, there is paragliding from the pass over the terracing fields and valleys (optional, and subject to weather conditions).

06:00 PM: Arrive at the Homestay
When the sun goes down, we need to reach around the local homestay village. You will be hosted by a local Thai family and have a traditional dinner. The food to be served includes ưu regional specialties such as cơm lam province, better known as bamboo rice, and BigInteger grilled fish, among others, prepared over an open fire. In the night, after dinner, try to catch some rest amidst all the serenity around so that you can rest for the next day, which is full of action packed activities.

05:30 AM: Trek to Mam Xoi Hill
Get up early to set eyes on one of Vietnam’s most stunning sunrises! This morning, we start by going on a hike up Mam Xoi Hill, Round Cake Hill, where a perfect view comes in sight of the iconic terraced rice fields of Mu Cang Chai. Morning light changes the landscape into a golden sea at the bottom and also creates an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic photographers.
07:30 AM: Return to the Homestay for Breakfast
Mam Xoi has great views, and after we are done there, we’ll head back to the homestay for breakfast energetic meal that awaits you for the giant hike later on.
09:00 AM: Trek to Horse Shoe Hill
The next destination will be Horse Shoe Hill, another photogenic site offering an extensive view of the rice fields in terraces. The rice field curves exquisitely around the hill in the shape of a horseshoe, hence providing another perspective on the appearance of the terraced landscape. This trek will let you experience the various dimensions of the land that Mu Cang Chai stands on.
11:30 AM: Lunch Picnic on the Way
On the way, we will have a picnic lunch to refuel before making the final ascend all the way to the top. Really just enjoy your meal amidst Mu Cang Chai’s stunning nature.
01:00 PM: Begin the Dinosaur Spine Ascent
