Morning

Departure to Bat Trang from Hanoi City

07:00 AM: Good morning, a fresh start with Impress Travel Traditional Handicraft Village Tours. You will be picked up at your hotel or you will move to a meeting point in Hanoi City and then jump on board with our comfortable coaches for a picture-framed drive to Bat Trang, then to Bac Ninh Province to take a visit to Dong Ky, Dong Ho. Leave behind the bustle and hustle to feel the breeze of green paddy fields and picture-perfect villages.

08:00 AM: Upon arrival in Bat Trang, head inside the  traditional handicraft village to learn about the history of the village with the highlight of 700-year-old pottery making. We will begin at the ceramic market for discovering different types of ceramics products. They can be designed with traditional Vietnamese patterns or modern adaptations or maybe the combination of both.

08:45 AM: A local workshop is an ideal place for you to try your hand skills at making pottery. The artisans will guide and teach basic skills and techniques so you will have a chance to shape and mold your own pieces. Then, a kiln visit to see where ceramics are done by fire to give the products best outcome and quality. 

09:45 AM: We will say goodbye to Bat Trang and move to the next destination, Dong Ho Village. The duration is around 45 minutes to the village. Dong Ho Village is located in Bac Ninh Province, it is well-known for the traditional woodblock prints, which is also known as Dong Ho paintings. 

10:30 AM: Our guide will provide to you a brief introduction  of the village’s history and the insights of Dong Ho paintings.  After that, we will take a visit a local artisan’s workshop to see people creating and completing the paintings, from the simple step of choosing ingredients to carving the woodblocks to printing on traditional paper. You can try hands-on experience with the printing process, create a simple print under the guidance of the artisan, gaining a deeper appreciation for the skill involved.

11:15 AM: : Let’s explore the Dong Ho Painting Museum, which is the house of historical and contemporary Dong Ho paintings collection. To end Dong Ho Village Tour, take a walk through the local market to both appreciate different types of artworks and purchase Dong Ho prints and souvenirs home.

Noon

Leaving Dong Ho Village for Lunch

12:00 PM: We will transfer to Dong Ky Village. During the journey, we will stop by having a Vietnamese lunch with the local specialty of Bac Ninh Province. This meal is a culinary journey through the flavors of this area. 

Afternoon

Visiting Dong Ky Village and then return to Hanoi City

1:30 PM: Dong Ky Traditional Handicraft Village is famous for woodworking and furniture-making traditions. Take the opportunity to go to a woodworking workshop because you can take a look at the experienced artisans, the way they smoothly carve intricate designs into wood through generations, you can also join them to do some basic wood carvings.
