How to get to Mu Cang Chai: Tours & Transportation

Mu Cang Chai is a wonderful land in Vietnam, with its wild and natural beauty, it has become a place that attracts thousands of visitors every year. If you are interested or have your luggage ready to explore this land once, you must definitely know the ways to get here in the most convenient way depending on your budget for each person. Let’s take a look at some of the means you can choose to get to Mu Cang Chai.

Why must you choose the right means of transportation for your trip?

Traveling in general requires many factors to make it absolutely perfect, and the task of choosing a suitable means of transportation is extremely important for the following reasons.

Provide a safe experience

This is definitely the most important reason as well as the top factor that all tourists are interested in because a safe trip will help you have a good discovery experience as well as a good first impression when you just arrived in Mu Cang Chai land.

Bring comfort on the road

No one wants to feel tired on the way to the land they want to explore, right? Choosing the right means of transportation for yourself will help you feel comfortable on the journey and will give you the most refreshing spirit to be ready to explore.

Fits your budget

Each means of transportation will have a different price that you need to pay corresponding to providing different experiences. You can consider and choose for yourself which means of transport to both suit your budget and reach your destination safely.

Travel to Mu Cang Chai by plane

Vietnam Airlines

Vietnam Airlines

First of all, we will learn about the vehicle that is preferred by the majority of foreign tourists as well as domestic tourists in the South or far northern regions of Vietnam, which is the plane. Because there is still no airport in Yen Bai province, the most feasible option is to take a plane to the capital Hanoi and then use other means to get to Mu Cang Chai.

The advantage of this method of transportation is that it will be very convenient for tourists from as far away as the southern provinces because this is the fastest and most convenient method of transportation, you will not encounter any problems. Inadequacies such as the problem of time, the problem of losing energy when traveling long distances. And more convenient is that you can comfortably bring a lot of luggage for your trip, which is what many people like when using a plane as a means of transportation to Mu Cang Chai.

However, the disadvantage of this means of transportation is that airline tickets are quite expensive, airline ticket prices are often higher than all other types of transportation tickets such as buses and trains,… Not to mention When the peak tourist season comes, ticket prices will be higher. If your budget is sufficient and you have some extra money, choose this option to feel most comfortable.

Some good airlines that you should choose are Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, Jetstar Pacific and Bamboo Airways.

Travel to Mu Cang Chai by train

Travel to Mu Cang Chai by train

Travel to Mu Cang Chai by train

If you are a person who loves the experience of watching, crossing high mountains and blue seas, then surely the experience of going to Mu Cang Chai by train will be extremely suitable for you. The advantage of this means of transportation is that you will also reach your destination quickly and extremely safely. You can completely take a nap to refresh your mind or you can relax your eyes to see the wonderful mountain and forest scenery on the train journey to Yen Bai land.

No need to worry about belongings because you can bring as many things as you want, this is also one of the great advantages of traveling by train. Price is also the plus point of this means of transportation, the train ticket price from Hanoi to Yen Bai is only in the range of 200,000 VND to 300,000 VND, this is an extremely affordable price and suitable for the budget of many tourists.

Regarding the disadvantage, what makes it difficult for most tourists to experience traveling to Mu Cang Chai by train is that it will be difficult for them to breathe natural air like other means of transport such as motorbikes, car, and it’s hard to get off to check out the beautiful views because the train won’t stop for you to do that.

Travel to Mu Cang Chai by bus

Travel to Mu Cang Chai by bus

Travel to Mu Cang Chai by bus

One of the vehicles that many people choose when going to Mu Cang Chai is the bus. Why do many tourists choose this vehicle as an “escort" for their trip to the highland land?

The biggest advantage of taking the bus is that the price is extremely affordable, suitable for many people, besides there are many bus companies that you can freely choose to provide you with a great experience and safety. Next is traveling by bus, which can take you to your destination without having to stop at any location or use other means, because currently the bus routes in Mu Cang Chai are also developed together and there is never a shortage of buses for you to choose from.

However, the disadvantage of this means of transportation is that there are quite a few long-distance bus routes from the southern provinces all the way to Mu Cang Chai, so some tourists will have to take two or three bus trips to get to Mu Cang Chai. Next, on the long journey to Mu Cang Chai by bus, sometimes you will have somewhat unpleasant experiences such as motion sickness, cramped space and difficulty in going to the toilet. ..These are the major limitations of this means of transportation.

However, if you want to have quick and convenient trips, we still recommend that you use the bus as your main means of transportation. Two convenient ways for you to travel is that if you are in the Northern provinces neighboring Yen Bai, you can take direct buses to Mu Cang Chai. If you can’t find direct bus tickets to Mu Cang Chai, buy bus tickets to Yen Bai city then rent a car and continue your journey to explore Mu Cang Chai.

Travel to Mu Cang Chai by motorbike

This is definitely something that backpackers love, which is using motorbikes to go to Mu Cang Chai. The reason why many people choose motorbikes as a companion for their trip to Mu Cang Chai is because of its convenience, you can drive on the road and admire the wonderful scenery at the same time from mountains, forests and enchanting passes. At the same time, when using a motorbike, you will be more convenient in daily activities in Mu Cang Chai as well as more flexible and able to handle situations that require unexpected movement.

However, the disadvantage of this means of transportation is extremely large, which is safety. When traveling to Mu Cang Chai by motorbike, the thing you need to pay attention to most is safety, because the road to Mu Cang Chai is extremely dangerous and most of them are steep and winding passes, so you must be extremely careful. Second, when riding a motorbike, you will easily get tired and lose strength, so remember to eat well, rest and get enough sleep to ensure your true health and mental state are good enough to hold the wheel.

Travel to Mu Cang Chai by car

If your family has the conditions and already has a car, why not go to Mu Cang Chai by car, right? This is also a means of transportation chosen by the majority of family tourists. The advantage of this means of transportation is that it is extremely convenient and available, as well as the fact that you can stop and check in beautiful places if you want like riding a motorbike, and you can comfortably leave your belongings behind without worrying about going missing.

The disadvantages are similar to motorbikes, you must pay attention to driving the vehicle carefully to avoid unnecessary situations as well as prepare enough gasoline, no one wants the vehicle to run out of gas midway.

Travel to Mu Cang Chai by bicycle

Travel to Mu Cang Chai by bike

This is a strange way to travel because no one has ever traveled to a highland place like Mu Cang Chai by bicycle. But this is true, guys, currently there are many tourists who are interested in exploring Mu Cang Chai and testing their health by cycling.

The advantage is that you will see the entire natural beauty slowly and comfortably, and the process of cycling will help exercise your health. However, the disadvantage is that you will be extremely exhausted when cycling such a long distance and the amount of luggage for each trip by your bicycle is extremely small, which will cause you trouble and fall into inconvenient condition. And finally, there’s the matter of time. Cycling will take a lot of time to reach your final destination, so consider it.

Conclusion

To get to Mu Cang Chai, there are truly countless ways for you to choose from. Of course, choosing a means of transportation will depend on your budget, the number of people traveling as well as the specific requirements for the means of transportation you require. Please consider your choice and quickly explore Mu Cang Chai.
