This city is very beautiful and is called the “Venice of Vietnam" because it has a lot of canals and boats that take people around.
In the past, Can Tho has been an important place for money, government and culture in the Mekong Delta area. In the past, the city was an important place for Chinese, Khmer, and Vietnamese people to trade with each other. Today, Can Tho still has its own special culture that mixes different ethnic groups together.
The Cai Rang floating market is a very popular place to visit in Can Tho. This place that floats on water is the biggest market in the West. It brings in lots of visitors every day who come to look and buy things. Here, people can eat tasty foods by the river like fish cake bread, braised fish, and grilled snakehead fish.
Also, tourists should visit famous places like Ong Pagoda, Hang Pagoda, Con Son eco-tourism area, and Ut Trinh orchard. Everyone works together to make Can Tho into a beautiful and vibrant place. This is really cool and interesting to check out.
Transportation in Can Tho is easy. People can use trains, cars, motorbikes, or bicycles to get around. Furthermore, there are many good places to stay, eat, and have fun. This makes it easier for tourists to find what they need.
In summary, Can Tho is a very interesting place to visit, with a lot of cultural things to see from the Western region. Visitors to Can Tho can explore a beautiful place with lots of things to do and bring back great memories.
Can Tho, located in southern Vietnam, has a tropical climate with three distinct seasons: dry, wet, and floods. The rainy season in Can Tho lasts from May to November, and the dry season lasts from December till April. Can Tho has no typhoons, however it does have annual flooding. It runs from mid-August to October. The average number of sunny hours per year is 2,561 (source: Vietnam Institute of Building Science and Technology). The average humidity per month is 86.6%. March has the lowest relative humidity (78.3%), while September is the highest (87.9%). The wind in Can Tho is normally quiet. The annual average rainfall is 1,946 mm, with 189 rainy days each year.
Can Tho’s weather is ideal for warm-weather vacationers at this time of year. The average high temperature during this season is between 31°C (87.8°F) and 24°C (75.2°F). On average, it doesn’t rain much. These are the busiest times of year for tourism. Hotel and airfare prices will be at their highest during these months, but you can save money if you book ahead of time.
This season seems hot due to the combination of humidity and high temperatures. High temperatures range from 24°C (75.2°F) to 33°C (91.4°F), with similar temperatures in the latter months. Rain falls rarely, with only 0 to 3 days of considerable precipitation per month. These are the second busiest for tourism, making it an ideal time for individuals looking for things to do.
The middle of the year has quite comfortable weather with high, warm temperatures. High temperatures range from 23°C (73.4°F) to 32°C (89.6°F). These months get modest precipitation, with 3 to 5 days of precipitation every month. Tourism is slowest during these months due to the weather, thus hotels may be reasonably priced.
Fall daily highs vary from 23°C (73.4°F) to 31°C (87.8°F), which will feel particularly pleasant given the humidity and wind. It rains about two to six days per month. September through November is a somewhat sluggish season for tourists in Can Tho, thus housing and other accommodations may be slightly cheaper.
Can Tho is best visited between December and February, when the nights are pleasant and dry, while July and November bring monsoon rains. If you dislike hot weather, avoid March through June. As a result, it doesn’t really matter when you go, because the Mekong Delta looks great in both full sun and rain. Travel firms may list excursions during the rainy season, but arrange your vacation dates carefully or it may be a washout.
Cai Rang floating market is a very popular and large market that floats on the Mekong Delta. It is a place that shows the traditional culture of the southern area and how it has been helped by the Mekong Delta’s waterways. The market is located by the Cai Rang river. It is five kilometers away from the center of Can Tho if you go by road. It’s a big market where they sell lots of fruits, veggies, and other stuff from Can Tho city and 13 other provinces nearby.
Cai Rang floating market is mainly for local people, not tourists. That’s why it doesn’t have souvenir shops like other markets on land. Unlike regular markets on land, the shops and stalls at Cai Rang floating market are on boats of different sizes. The market started a hundred years ago when people in the area started traveling and doing business by boat on the waterways. French sources noted this in 1899. In the southwest, boats and rafts are used for transportation, like how people use motorbikes and cars in other areas. Traveling on a boat along the river, local sellers do all their business on the water. Goods are taken to the market on rafts, small boats and sampans. Not many rafts are used now. The floating market is a special place where you can buy country goods and see a different way of life on these boats. The market is like a community of traders who live on the river and some of them live on their boats.
Ninh Kieu Wharf, located on the right bank of the Hau River near its confluence with the Can Tho River, is a tourist destination and a symbol of Can Tho City. Established in the nineteenth century, it has long been transformed into Ninh Kieu Park, covering an area of 7000 square meters.
Inside the park, the trees are well maintained, and green grass grows beneath the white bricks. Sitting in the park, you can enjoy the pure air and fresh breeze, which provide a sensation of renewal. The lighting system enhances the park’s beauty and appeal at night.
The wetland conservation is about 40 kilometers from Can Tho city. It’s a hidden gem for anyone who loves to see the real Mekong Delta, next to the Can Tho floating market. The best way to see this place is by taking a boat. There are beautiful green canals and it feels like nowhere else in Vietnam.
If you really like nature, you would enjoy being outdoors like us. The best time to go to the Mekong is in the dry season from December to April, but the best time to visit this wetland is when it’s flooding and raining. That’s when the fish, food, and birds come back and wake up nature and wildlife. When there is a flood, the water lettuce spreads over the forest and canals, creating beautiful landscapes that we will never forget. During other times of the year, especially when it’s not raining, people will see the beauty of nature in new ways, like true adventurers.
Binh Thuy Ancient House was built in 1870 and is one of the nicest old houses in the Mekong Delta region. The house has a blend of both Eastern and Western cultures in its modern French architecture, creating a very beautiful and traditional look.
Binh Thuy Ancient House has a lot of old and special items that have been kept for a long time, like French-style woven cloth, white lanterns from the 15th century, and teacups from the Ming-Thanh dynasty. In 2009, it was given a special honor because of its special design and its old age. It’s now a National Architectural and Artistic Monument.
Fruit grows during certain times of the year. If you want to see a pretty fruit garden, you should visit during the rainy season. When it rains, flowers grow and tasty fruit grows. Best tip: The garden looks nicer in the morning.
You can use a boat, bike, scooter, or car to get to the Can Tho fruit garden. It all comes down to your preferences and how much time you have. Because the garden is in the countryside and you have to take a small road to get there, you will see a real and original garden. As local people, we like to use small boats, sampans, or bicycles to get around. Best advice: Riding a bike or scooter around the Mekong canal and fruit garden will be an awesome trip.
I hope these tips will help you make a great plan for your trip to Can Tho City. Have a good and safe journey.

We went on a private trip to Vietnam and Cambodia, the whole trip plan was organized for us by the Impress Travel Company from Vietnam, the company did an amazing job, the whole trip was organized in a wonderful way with an amazing match between the various parties, their choices were correct and the quality of the hotels chosen were very high quality and it is important to note that the price was low in comparison To other agencies, thanks to Impress Travel and especially to Daniel who was tolerant and open to changes and organized the route for us.
Impress travel were amazing. Did my bookings with Daniel for our tour of Vietnam and I must say Daniel was very professional and prompt with his services. All the arrangement, plans, pick-up & drop-off services, hotels, vehicles, sightseeing tours and guides were spot on and excellent. Did 4 nights Hanoi, 1 night Hà Long Bay cruise, 3 nights Hoian, 4 nights Saigon and 1 night in Can Tho. It was totally awesome. Every part of the journey was superbly arranged and planned.
