Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau Valley – Village Cycling
Leaving Hanoi in the morning and traveling southwest through the countryside toward Mai Chau. As the city gradually disappears, the scenery changes to fertile farmland, limestone hills, and winding mountain roads.
You will stop at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking Mai Chau Valley, where clusters of villages and rice paddies lie beneath forest-covered mountains. Then, you will continue traveling to a local restaurant or eco-lodge for lunch featuring regional dishes.
In the afternoon, you will set out on a gentle bicycle ride along quiet village lanes. Besides, you also pass rice fields, fishponds, vegetable gardens, and traditional stilt houses while learning about the customs of the White Thai people. Depending on the season, you may see farmers planting rice, harvesting crops, weaving textiles, or tending livestock.
You will return to the accommodation with time to relax before dinner. An optional traditional music and dance performance can be arranged in the evening.

Day 2: Mai Chau Cultural Trekking and Local Experiences
After having breakfast, you will begin a guided walk through the less-visited corners of Mai Chau Valley. Following small paths connecting villages, bamboo groves, cultivated fields, and the foothills surrounding the valley.
Then, you will visit a White Thai community and meet local residents to learn about traditional stilt-house architecture, family life, textile weaving, and agricultural practices. Moreover, our guide will explain how the community has adapted to tourism while continuing to preserve its cultural identity.
Next, you will enjoy lunch with a local family or at a village restaurant. In the afternoon, continue walking through the peaceful countryside or join an optional hands-on activity. Such as weaving, natural dyeing, or preparing a traditional dish.
Returning to your accommodation in the late afternoon. The remainder of the day is free to enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the valley.

Day 3: Mai Chau – Pu Luong Nature Reserve
In the morning, you will enjoy breakfast before departing Mai Chau for Pu Luong Nature Reserve. The scenic route crosses mountain passes and rural settlements, offering changing views of forests, terraced hillsides, and deep valleys.
Upon arrival, you will check in at an eco-lodge or traditional homestay and enjoy lunch overlooking the surrounding countryside.
In the afternoon, you can walk through a hillside village inhabited primarily by Thai ethnic families. Following narrow paths between rice terraces, houses, gardens, and patches of forest. Along the way, you will have a chance to observe daily village activities and learn how local people depend on farming and forest resources.
The trek can be adjusted according to weather conditions and the group’s fitness level. Returning to the accommodation before sunset and enjoy dinner in the peaceful mountain setting.

Day 4: Pu Luong Trekking – Traditional Waterwheels – Hanoi
After having breakfast, you will transfer to a lower valley area for a morning walk through farmland and ethnic villages. The route reveals some of Pu Luong’s most characteristic landscapes, including terraced fields, suspension bridges, streams, and forested limestone mountains.
Next, you will continue traveling to a riverside area where traditional bamboo waterwheels may be seen. These ingenious structures use the natural current to lift water into bamboo channels, helping irrigate fields without electricity.
After exploring the area, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before beginning the drive back to Hanoi. Arriving in the capital in the late afternoon or early evening and check in at your hotel.
The evening is free for independent exploration of the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, or Hanoi’s lively culinary scene.

Day 5: Hanoi – Bac Kan – Ba Be National Park
Following breakfast, you will leave Hanoi and travel north toward Bac Kan Province. The drive passes through the Red River Delta before entering a landscape of tea plantations, forested mountains, and ethnic minority settlements.
Next, you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant along the way. You continue traveling toward Ba Be National Park, a protected region known for its freshwater lake, limestone formations, caves, and tropical forest.
Upon arrival, you will check in at a Tay homestay or local lodge near Ba Be Lake. Taking a gentle afternoon walk through the surrounding village, where traditional stilt houses stand among rice fields and gardens.
In the evening, you will enjoy a home-cooked dinner prepared with regional ingredients. The peaceful lakeside environment provides a refreshing contrast to the capital.

Overnight at Ba Be National Park.
Day 6: Ba Be Lake Boat Journey – Puong Cave – Tay Village
After your breakfast, you will board a local boat for a memorable exploration of Ba Be Lake. Cruising across calm waters surrounded by jungle-covered limestone mountains and impressive karst cliffs.
Then, you will continue traveling along the Nang River and enter Puong Cave, a natural tunnel carved through a limestone mountain. Here, you can observe dramatic rock formations while your guide explains the cave’s geology and ecological importance.
Depending on water levels and local conditions, the journey may include additional stops at riverside villages, small temples, waterfalls, or quiet sections of the national park. Next, you will enjoy lunch during the excursion or at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will return to the accommodation and take a guided walk or cycle ride through a nearby Tay village. In addition, you can also learn about fishing, rice cultivation, traditional houses, and the close relationship between local communities and the lake.

Day 7: Ba Be – Mountain Villages – Cao Bang
In the morning, you will enjoy breakfast before leaving Ba Be for Cao Bang. Today’s journey follows scenic mountain roads through some of Northern Vietnam’s most remote countryside.
You will stop along the way to photograph terraced fields, limestone valleys, rivers, and small ethnic villages. In addition, our guide may arrange short walks or community visits depending on local conditions and available time.
After your lunch, you will continue toward Cao Bang City. Cao Bang forms part of the Non Nuoc Cao Bang UNESCO Global Geopark and is known for its limestone landscapes, geological diversity, ethnic cultures, and historic frontier routes.
Arriving in the late afternoon and check in at your hotel. You will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and prepare for the following day’s exploration of Ban Gioc.

Day 8: Cao Bang – Phia Thap Village – Ban Gioc Area
After enjoying breakfast, you will depart Cao Bang City and travel toward the eastern districts of the province. You will stop at Phia Thap, a traditional Nung village known for handmade incense production.
Next, you will walk through the village and observe how local families prepare natural materials, roll incense sticks, dry them in the sun, and arrange them in colorful bundles. The visit offers an intimate perspective on a craft that has been passed down through generations.
Then, you will continue traveling through the limestone valleys of Cao Bang, stopping for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit another ethnic community or take a scenic walk through rice fields and karst formations near the Ban Gioc area.
You will check in at a homestay or local lodge. In the evening, you will enjoy dinner surrounded by the quiet countryside, away from the busier provincial center.

Day 9: Nguom Ngao Cave – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Lang Son
You will begin the day with breakfast before visiting Nguom Ngao Cave, one of Cao Bang’s most impressive underground attractions. Walking through illuminated chambers filled with stalactites, stalagmites, stone columns, and naturally sculpted formations.
Next, you will continue to visit Ban Gioc Waterfall, where the Quay Son River descends through multiple cascades in a magnificent landscape of limestone peaks, rice fields, and bamboo groves. Here, you will enjoy time to photograph the falls and, when operating conditions permit, take an optional bamboo raft closer to the cascading water.
Then, you will visit Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda, set on a hillside overlooking the surrounding valley. From the higher grounds, you can admire panoramic views of the waterfall and frontier countryside.
After your lunch, you will begin the journey south toward Lang Son. Arrive in the evening, check in at your hotel, and enjoy dinner.

Day 10: Lang Son Discovery – Hanoi Departure
You will enjoy breakfast at hotel, then exploring selected attractions in Lang Son according to the group’s interests and operating conditions. Possible visits include a local market, a historic temple, or the remains of the Mac Dynasty Citadel.
Lang Son has long served as an important trading and cultural gateway between Vietnam and China. Its markets, temples, limestone peaks, and frontier history provide an interesting final chapter to the journey.
Next, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Hanoi along the main highway. Arriving in the capital in the late afternoon, where the tour concludes with a transfer to your hotel or another agreed location in central Hanoi.
