Visiting Traditional Markets
The first itinerary on this Ho Chi Minh City Tour is certainly going to be one of its most iconic places the Ben Thanh Market. This place actually offers a real sensory experience: it’s colorful, smells exotic, and has the cacophony of vendors all very eager to sell their goods. You will have an opportunity to get a view of absolutely packed stalls with fresh produce, fragrant spices, and really different varieties of local kinds of coffee beans and leaves of tea. You will intermingle with vendors, learn about the typical ingredients that are used in Vietnamese cuisine, and have a first-hand look at ways of life.
Discover Local Flavors with Ho Chi Minh City Coffee and Tea Tours
Next, indulge your taste buds with local coffee and a variety of tea blends. There’s the unique Vietnamese coffee, often brewed with sweetened condensed milk to make the famous “ca phe sua da," or iced milk coffee. You will further be treated to some traditional Vietnamese tea, lotus tea, and artichoke tea, each carrying in its own flavor but together representing the richness of culture. This teatime tasting experience sits well as an epitome of understanding, there to mark the depth taken into the diversity of Vietnamese Beverages.
Engaging with Local Vendors and Baristas
Probably one of the most interesting aspects of the Ho Chi Minh City Coffee and Tea Tours is engaging local vendors and expert baristas. Being passionate themselves, these people are always ready to share their knowledge and stories about the art and science behind the making: be that tea or coffee. Such interactions really allow one to appreciate both beverages in a bit more depth, be it the subtle art of brewing a fine tea or intricate ways of roasting coffee beans.
Exploring Iconic Historical Landmarks
Further along the tour, we will show you some historic Landmarks done within Ho Chi Minh City. These places will let you gaze out both at the storied past and vibrant present of this city. From the grandiose Notre Dame Cathedral to the historic Independence Palace, every place speaks volumes about its history. We have engaging narratives that bring landmarks to life through our travel guide to make history both engagable and livable.
Experiencing Traditional and Modern Brewing Techniques
Through the tour, you can view a mix of both the traditional and modern brewing methods. Most of the stops use more traditional methods to prepare tea as classic clay teapots and bamboo strainers will attest. But you’ll also have a chance to get familiar with such modern innovations in brewing coffee as advanced espresso machines or ingenious cold brew methods. This mix of old and new represents a shift in Vietnamese coffee and tea culture.
Participating in Coffee and Tea Workshops
Finally, our Ho Chi Minh City Coffee and Tea Tours include hands-on workshops so that you get a try and make your own coffee and tea. You’ll learn how to brew up the perfect cup from the robust Vietnamese coffee through the delicate green tea, with skillful artisans who instruct on the craft. Interactive and fun, these workshops enable you to carry back home new skills to relish along with memories from your travels and impress friends and family alike.

War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit is particularly touching, dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict. The courtyard outside contains the spoils of war, namely rusting jets, tanks and cannons captured from the American military machine.
Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in its creation was shipped from France to Vietnam. Her two 40m towers, topped with iron spires dominate the city’s skyline. The Old Post Office is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office.
Jade Emperor Pagoda: Building in 1909 in honor of the supreme Taoist god, this is one of the most spectacularly atmospheric temples in HCMC, stuffed with statues of phantasmal divinities and grotesque heroes. The pungent smoke of incense fills the air, obscuring the exquisite woodcarvings.
Cu Chi Tunnels: Watch a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. Also, on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those interested there’s even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range
