What Makes Gia Dinh Park Special?
Let me tell you, Gia Dinh Park is not only a park; instead, it is a downright green paradise amidst Ho Chi Minh City. The moment one joins the Morning Walking Tour at Gia Dinh Park, sereneness from nature instantly engulfs them. Housing over 1,000 trees, all the vitality of the flora here creates a tranquil atmosphere that is just about magical. It’s an escape from the hustle of the city, but still close enough to keep you connected with key locations in Ho Chi Minh Tours.
Historical Background: From a 1950s Golf Course to Today’s Expansive Park
You may be surprised to know that it used to be a golf course back in the 1950s. Yes! It is just so bewildering how Gia Dinh has transformed from being an elite playground to the public green sanctuary it stands for today. After reunification, space started turning into the open park that it is today, where locals and visitors alike could appreciate the beauty of nature.
Activities at the Park: Yoga, Meditation, and Fitness Opportunities in Morning Walking Tour at Gia Dinh Park
What’s even more exciting about Gia Dinh Park is the community vibe that you’re going to feel here. Early in the morning, the park comes to life with people practicing yoga, meditation, and tai chi. Our Morning Walking Tour at Gia Dinh Park gives you a chance to observe it, and if you feel like it-even join these activities! Whether it’s a leisure walk for stretching your legs, a bit of outdoor fitness appreciation, or just a place you like the most because of serenity, this can be a perfect place to refresh your body and mind.
Ecological Diversity: A Natural Haven in the City
And now regarding ecological richness: there are over 1,000 trees of different species, including the giant ancient ones, so the park can only boast shade and coolness when the days are at their hottest. You will notice quite a few native trees such as the Lim Xet and Me Tay, and for those of you who enjoy bird watching, be sure to bring your camera as there are many species of birds to see within the park that just love to sing throughout the day. This is something you should not miss out on when taking the tour with Ho Chi Minh Tours.

Day 02
HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR AND CU CHI TUNNELS
Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. We will visit the following places of interest:
The Reunification Palace: Here on April 30th, 1975 the Vietnam War officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam.
War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit is particularly touching, dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict. The courtyard outside contains the spoils of war, namely rusting jets, tanks and cannons captured from the American military machine.
Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in its creation was shipped from France to Vietnam. Her two 40m towers, topped with iron spires dominate the city’s skyline. The Old Post Office is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office.
Jade Emperor Pagoda: Building in 1909 in honor of the supreme Taoist god, this is one of the most spectacularly atmospheric temples in HCMC, stuffed with statues of phantasmal divinities and grotesque heroes. The pungent smoke of incense fills the air, obscuring the exquisite woodcarvings.
Cu Chi Tunnels: Watch a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. Also, on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those interested there’s even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range
