Explore Ho Chi Minh City with Night Jeep Tours

Experience an unforgettable journey with Ho Chi Minh City with Night Jeep Tours in a classic military that brings the night scenes of this city to life as you explore its iconic landmarks. This trip is an interesting mix of the past and present: drive around busy streets and luminous monuments. As you cruise down the bustling avenues of the city, you’ll be enveloped in a vast tapestry of culture that will beguile you about Ho Chi Minh City after dark. Whatever it may be, it is more than a tour it is an experience that puts one deep into the pulse of this city at night.

Why Choose a Jeep Tour?

Visit Ho Chi Minh by jeep

Visit Ho Chi Minh by jeep

Well, why a Jeep tour against, say, some other mode of transportation? Because in many ways, it is just the perfect melding of comfort, accessibility, and plain old enjoyment that a Jeep can deliver. You’re not just sitting there observing while you ride in a Jeep – you’re part of the action.

An open design of the Jeep offers you a full view of town landmarks, while the possibility of feeling the cool night breeze adds a higher degree of sense satisfaction than an air-conditioned vehicle. It’s more intimate than a bus tour, more comfortable than a motorbike tour, and far more exciting than a walking tour. You’re able to cover more ground than walking, yet you’re close enough to the action to feel like you’re truly part of the city’s pulse.

Probably the best advantage of any night jeep tour is the opportunity to experience Ho Chi Minh City at its most charming under streetlights and neon signs. The cooler night air also makes sure that all this can be done in much more pleasant conditions than during the day, which holds for this city specifically. In addition, the streets are full of locals and visitors, so basically, it is the best time to explore and take photos of its vibrant energy.

Detailed Itinerary of the Explore Ho Chi Minh City with Night Jeep Tours

6:00 PM – Pickup and Start of the Tour

Your adventure starts with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Districts 1, 3, and 4. If your hotel is located out of these places, we can arrange the service with a small extra fee. Our dedicated team ensures that you will comfortably be seated in our classic open-air military Jeep, getting you ready for the night experience.

6:15 PM – Independence Palace

Our tour will start with a visit to the Independence Palace a historical site with the former pivotal role during the Vietnam War. We will spend approximately 15 minutes here. The illuminated palace looks beautiful at night, and with the best background, your guide is going to tell all the stories about its glorious days during that time. This is a good time for you to get photos and enjoy the architecture, the combination between the Eastern and the Western styles.

6:45 PM – Saigon Opera House

Next, we stop at the Saigon Opera House. Here, you will get 10 minutes for admiration, as your guide points out the culturally significant opera house that has served as a top platform for big music, opera, and theatre, since 1898. The facade, well-lit, makes great pictures.

7:00 PM – Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica

Just a short drive away is the Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica. Spend about 10 minutes to take a stroll around the outside of this beautiful cathedral. Twin bell towers were also built by French colonists and truly are a sight to behold, especially when illuminated at night. It is interesting to hear a brief history of this religious landmark and how it represents Vietnamese culture, as well as the French involvement.

7:15 PM – Central Post Office

Right next to the cathedral is the Central Post Office, where you’ll spend 15 minutes. This is not only a post office, though, as it is a historical site designed by the famous architect Gustave Eiffel. When you enter, you will recognize the old-style phone booths and the large maps of Vietnam on the walls. The light working on the building is so beautiful that you will enjoy your visit.

7:40 PM – Ben Thanh Market

Next, drive to Ben Thanh Market. It is located in the bustling downtown center. Allow 20 minutes to explore one of the most famous markets in Ho Chi Minh City. Re-modelled in recent years, somehow reminisces of the Galeries Lafayette in Paris. In Ben Thanh Market you can find anything from clothes to jewelry to food, and the atmosphere here is pulsating; you can almost purchase everything here from fresh street local foods to handicrafts. You have a chance to interact with the local people over some of the tasty snacks, maybe considering some unique souvenirs.

8:10 PM – Saigon Riverbank

Post-market, enjoy a leisurely 20-minute drive along the Saigon Riverbank. Take in the peaceful river views and the city skyline, reflected on the water. It’s a great time to relax and appreciate the cool night air while snapping some excellent photos of Ho Chi Minh City from another perspective.

8:30 PM – Local Culinary Experience

Time for Dinner! Dining at two off-the-beaten homemade local restaurants, you’ll have a secret menu dinner that will have your adrenaline pumping for the next hour while you enjoy it. You take a lot of time to have a fine dining lunch in a restaurant like this, over traditional Vietnamese dishes that let you experience a well-preserved culinary culture. The chefs keep some surprises coming, from sweet to savory to spicy and aromatic flavors, this dining experience packs in a Vietnamese insight.

9:30 PM – Rooftop Bar Experience

Close the evening by hitting one of the best rooftop bars in Ho Chi Minh City. Enjoy a drink for the next 30 minutes and take in the panoramic view of the glistening skyline of the city. It has immaculate ambiance and a huge beverage list, for quite an unwind after a rather exciting evening. Share your stories with fellow travelers or simply sit back and get a feel of the atmosphere.

  • War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit is particularly touching, dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict. The courtyard outside contains the spoils of war, namely rusting jets, tanks and cannons captured from the American military machine.
  • Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in its creation was shipped from France to Vietnam. Her two 40m towers, topped with iron spires dominate the city’s skyline. The Old Post Office is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office.
  • Jade Emperor Pagoda: Building in 1909 in honor of the supreme Taoist god, this is one of the most spectacularly atmospheric temples in HCMC, stuffed with statues of phantasmal divinities and grotesque heroes. The pungent smoke of incense fills the air, obscuring the exquisite woodcarvings.
  • Cu Chi Tunnels: Watch a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. Also, on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those interested there’s even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range
