Historical Background on Ho Chi Minh City Trust tours
Historical of Dinh Lam Pagoda
It was founded in the year 1970 by the far-sighted laywoman Tang Thi Chin, whose spiritual name is Dong The. This reflects spiritual devotion to spiritual growth and the pride of cultural heritage in Ho Chi Minh City. The pagoda is based on the Bac Tong practice, which is Northern Buddhism. Thus, it expressed a contradicting view that such a pagoda was meant mainly for meditation, rituals, or spiritual education. Under the guidance of Tang Thi Chin, this has rapidly grown into a source of peace and learning not only for local devotees but also for spiritual seekers.
For many decades, Dinh Lam Pagoda has been very influential in creating and molding the development of Buddhism here in southern Vietnam. To anyone on a Ho Chi Minh Tours or even in search of a more genuine experience with Ho Chi Minh City Trust tours, this site lets one peek into the spiritual growth in the region. It continues to inspire many with its timeless teachings and the enduring legacy of its founder.

Its central shrine, with its motifs so fine in detail, and the peaceful meditation halls invite visitors into being subsumed with spiritual contemplation.
The pagoda was surrounded by appealing outdoor gardens outside, creating a quiet, hidden oasis in Ho Chi Minh City. In its design, every feature is symbolic-for example, the lotus flowers for purity and dragon sculptures portraying strength and protection. So, all these touches can turn the pagoda into a haven for peace seekers and cultural explorers alike.
What makes Dinh Lam Pagoda stand out is the understated elegance in its structure compared to the rest of the pagodas throughout Vietnam. The classic architecture and serenity attract photography and architecture enthusiasts. Visiting here is much more than just a ‘visual treat’; for this reason, it is truly an experience in meaning, making it a must-see on any Ho Chi Minh City Trust tours.

The Reunification Palace: Here on April 30th, 1975 the Vietnam War officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam.
War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit is particularly touching, dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict. The courtyard outside contains the spoils of war, namely rusting jets, tanks and cannons captured from the American military machine.
Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in its creation was shipped from France to Vietnam. Her two 40m towers, topped with iron spires dominate the city’s skyline. The Old Post Office is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office.
Jade Emperor Pagoda: Building in 1909 in honor of the supreme Taoist god, this is one of the most spectacularly atmospheric temples in HCMC, stuffed with statues of phantasmal divinities and grotesque heroes. The pungent smoke of incense fills the air, obscuring the exquisite woodcarvings.
Cu Chi Tunnels: Watch a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. Also, on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those interested there’s even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range
