Your sightseeing starts with Wat Sisaket, the oldest surviving temple in the city, home to thousands of miniature Buddha statues. Continue to the former royal temple, Wat Prakeo, once the residence of the Emerald Buddha. En route to the golden That Luang Stupa, the nation’s most sacred monument, stop to photograph the imposing Patuxay Monument, often called Vientiane’s very own Arc de Triomphe.
In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at one of the capital’s fine local restaurants, savouring authentic Lao cuisine in an elegant setting.
