Tips for a Memorable Ho Chi Minh Cafe Tour
Best Time to Embark on a Cafe Tour
Timing is everything! In case one wants to feel the quieter side of Ho Chi Minh Cafe Tours, an early morning start is perfect for that. The city is still, and the cafes are less crowded; one will get ample opportunities to enjoy the serenity of the atmosphere. Furthermore, the cool air of the morning goes well with a hot cup of traditional Vietnamese coffee. For a more magical experience, shoot for a late afternoon tour and culminate it at sunset with a stop at EON51. Having a chance to see the city light up into the evening as you sip on a drink is one highlight of any Ho Chi Minh Tours agenda.
What to Wear and Bring
Speaking of the Ho Chi Minh Cafe Tour, comfort is key. The things you would normally wear are casual yet stylish attire, keeping in mind the laid-back atmosphere of the cafes, but not forgetting they will have to be good enough for an Instagram-worthy photo. And remember to wear comfortable shoes, as you will be walking to and from cafes and attractions. And of course, bringing a camera or smartphone along view simply cannot be missed from places such as Bitexco Tower or the unique decor in each cafe. A refillable water bottle is also convenient, reassuring that you’ll stay hydrated in your city exploration.
Cultural Etiquette in Cafes
In Ho Chi Minh City, cafes are more than just a place to grab a drink they’re social hubs where locals connect. When ordering Vietnamese coffee, it’s traditional to ask for Cà Phê Sữa Đá (iced coffee with condensed milk) or Cà Phê Đen Đá (black iced coffee). Both are must-tries! When interacting with locals, a friendly smile and simple phrases like “Cảm ơn" (thank you) will go a long way. It’s also important to note that many cafes are slower-paced, encouraging patrons to linger, so take your time and enjoy the atmosphere. Tipping is appreciated but not expected—however, rounding up your bill is a kind gesture!

Day 02
HO CHI MINH CITY TOUR AND CU CHI TUNNELS
Your guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. We will visit the following places of interest:
The Reunification Palace: Here on April 30th, 1975 the Vietnam War officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam.
War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit is particularly touching, dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict. The courtyard outside contains the spoils of war, namely rusting jets, tanks and cannons captured from the American military machine.
Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in its creation was shipped from France to Vietnam. Her two 40m towers, topped with iron spires dominate the city’s skyline. The Old Post Office is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office.
Jade Emperor Pagoda: Building in 1909 in honor of the supreme Taoist god, this is one of the most spectacularly atmospheric temples in HCMC, stuffed with statues of phantasmal divinities and grotesque heroes. The pungent smoke of incense fills the air, obscuring the exquisite woodcarvings.
Cu Chi Tunnels: Watch a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. Also, on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those interested there’s even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range
