Day 1 – Arrival in Vientiane

🛬 Welcome to Laos! Upon arrival at Wattay International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by our local guide and transferred to your hotel in the city center.
After check-in, take some time to relax after your flight or begin exploring the peaceful capital at your own pace.
Stroll along the Mekong River promenade at sunset, visit the Vientiane Night Market, or enjoy a traditional Laotian dinner at a riverside restaurant.
Our guide will also brief you on the upcoming 20-day journey across Laos.

Day 2 – Vientiane City Tour & Buddha Park

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your guided city tour to explore the timeless charm of Vientiane, the laid-back capital of Laos.
Visit Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple in the city, famous for its thousands of Buddha images, and Wat Prakeo, once the royal temple that housed the Emerald Buddha.
Continue to the national symbol of Laos – That Luang Stupa, a magnificent golden monument representing Lao culture and spirituality. Stop by the Patuxai Monument, often called the “Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane,” for panoramic city views.

In the afternoon, drive about 25 km southeast to visit the mysterious Buddha Park (Xieng Khuan), home to more than 200 impressive Buddhist and Hindu sculptures scattered along the Mekong River.

Return to the city in the late afternoon. Enjoy leisure time in the evening or try local dishes along the riverside.

Day 3 – Vientiane → Nam Ngum Lake → Vang Vieng

After breakfast, depart from Vientiane and travel north along scenic countryside roads toward Nam Ngum Lake, the largest artificial lake in Laos, surrounded by limestone hills and lush greenery.
En route, stop at a local market in Dong Makkhai to see traditional trading activities and sample some local snacks.

Upon arrival at Nam Ngum Lake, embark on a relaxing boat cruise to explore its tranquil waters dotted with small islands and floating fishing villages. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the breathtaking natural landscape.

Day 4 – Explore Vang Vieng

Start with a visit to Tham Jang Cave, once used as a hideout during the wars and now offering panoramic views over the river valley. Then, enjoy a leisurely cycling tour through the surrounding countryside, passing through small villages, rice fields, and local farms to experience authentic rural life.

In the afternoon, you may choose to kayak or tube along the Nam Song River, surrounded by dramatic limestone cliffs and lush vegetation — a relaxing yet scenic experience unique to Vang Vieng.

Along the way, pass through Phonsavan’s fertile farmlands and small ethnic communities. There will be several scenic stops for photos and short breaks, allowing you to appreciate the ever-changing views of rolling hills and forested peaks.

Day 9 – Nong Khiaw → Luang Prabang

After breakfast, depart Muang La with a scenic drive to Muong Khoua, a small riverside town located on the banks of the Nam Ou River. From here, embark on an unforgettable long-tail boat journey downstream, gliding through one of the most beautiful stretches of river scenery in Laos.

Upon arrival in Pakse, check in to your hotel and take the rest of the day at leisure. You may wish to stroll along the Sedone River, visit a local market, or enjoy dinner at one of the riverside restaurants offering fine Lao cuisine and views of the Mekong at sunset.

Day 14 – Bolaven Plateau Discovery

After breakfast, set off on a full-day excursion to the Bolaven Plateau, a lush highland region famous for its cool climate, coffee plantations, and dramatic waterfalls. The plateau, located at an elevation of around 1,200 metres, is home to several ethnic minority groups and some of the most scenic landscapes in southern Laos.

Visit the stunning Tad Fane Waterfall, where twin streams plunge over 100 metres into a deep gorge — an iconic image of the region. Continue to Tad Yuang Waterfall, another beautiful cascade surrounded by tropical forest, where you can walk down to the base for great photo opportunities.

Explore a few local coffee plantations, learn about the traditional roasting process, and taste freshly brewed Lao coffee, renowned for its rich aroma. Along the way, stop at ethnic minority villages, such as those of the Alak, Katu, or Nge tribes, to observe their traditional stilt houses and daily life.

Day 15 – Pakse → Champasak – Wat Phou

Here, visit the revered That Inhang Stupa, one of the most important religious monuments in southern Laos, believed to house relics of the Buddha.

Continue with a stop at a local salt factory, where traditional methods of salt production are still practiced. This visit offers a fascinating glimpse into the region’s rural industries and daily life.

In the afternoon, drive onwards to the Bolaven Plateau, a fertile highland region renowned for its cool climate, lush scenery, and sprawling coffee and tea plantations. Upon arrival, check into your lodge or resort and enjoy the refreshing mountain air of this tranquil plateau.

Day 17 – Explore Don Khong & Surroundings

Cruise to Don Det and Don Khone, two of the most charming islands known for their relaxed atmosphere and colonial relics from the French era.

Visit the old French railway bridge, a fascinating remnant of the colonial period when the French built a short railway line to bypass the Mekong rapids for trade transport. Continue to the spectacular Li Phi (Somphamit) Waterfalls, where roaring cascades crash through rocky gorges — one of the most impressive natural sights in southern Laos.

If you’re lucky, you may also spot the rare Irrawaddy freshwater dolphins that inhabit parts of the Mekong near the Cambodian border.
