Sustainable Mu Cang Chai – Ta Xua Expedition: 9 Days

The Sustainable Mu Cang Chai – Ta Xua Expedition: 9 Days is a private mountain journey created for travellers who wish to experience Northwest Vietnam slowly, responsibly and meaningfully. Beginning in Hanoi, the route follows the fertile Muong Lo Valley through Tu Le and across Khau Pha Pass before reaching the celebrated rice terraces of Mu Cang Chai.

Unlike conventional sightseeing programmes, our carefully designed Mu Cang Chai Tours combine scenic exploration with community-based accommodation, locally prepared meals, guided village walks and rewarding treks through La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha and De Xu Phinh. These landscapes represent generations of agricultural knowledge and the close relationship between H’Mong communities and their mountain environment.

The expedition then continues through the quieter highlands of Tram Tau and Bac Yen to Ta Xua, where forested peaks rise above deep valleys and drifting clouds. Depending on local weather, travellers may witness a remarkable sea of clouds from the Dinosaur Spine and other elevated viewpoints.
