After breakfast, set off on a full-day excursion to the Bolaven Plateau, a lush highland region famous for its cool climate, coffee plantations, and dramatic waterfalls. The plateau, located at an elevation of around 1,200 metres, is home to several ethnic minority groups and some of the most scenic landscapes in southern Laos.
Visit the stunning Tad Fane Waterfall, where twin streams plunge over 100 metres into a deep gorge — an iconic image of the region. Continue to Tad Yuang Waterfall, another beautiful cascade surrounded by tropical forest, where you can walk down to the base for great photo opportunities.
Explore a few local coffee plantations, learn about the traditional roasting process, and taste freshly brewed Lao coffee, renowned for its rich aroma. Along the way, stop at ethnic minority villages, such as those of the Alak, Katu, or Nge tribes, to observe their traditional stilt houses and daily life.
Return to Pakse in the late afternoon for an evening at leisure.
