The excitement begins! We will be meeting at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport and heading to Ha Giang. As we get away from the frenzy of the city we will be driving north to the frontier of Vietnam. As we near Ha Giang you’ll begin to see the landscape change mountains get taller, air crispier, roads windier, providing awesome views that will only improve as we progress!
12:30 PM:
After making our way through the mountains, we’ll reach Meo Vac. In Pho Cao and Sung La villages, our first stop, the welcoming Lo Lo ethnic group gets even hotter. Here you get to mingle with the locals, get gorgeous photos of their clothes and their culture, and be a part of their lives. Stop for a moment or two to take photos of the stunning landscape, green hills, native houses, and the colorful way of life that adds its stamp to Meo Vac as an extraordinary travel experience.

From here, the expansive landscape of Ha Giang’s wild beauty will leave you breathless, as endless fields, sweeping mountains, and charming villages populate the valley.
9:00 AM:
Soak Up Beauty of Lung Cu When we finish soaking in the beauty of Lung Cu, we will set off for the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, one of the “four great mountain passes” of Vietnam. Hold onto your hats as we travel this narrow, winding road that hugs the mountainside. From its crazy twists and turns to the stunning views, Ma Pi Leng Pass is honestly one of the most exhilarating drives you will ever make! I will tell you some interesting facts about the past, its history as well as the important part of it in Meo Vac and Ha Giang.
12:00 PM:
Once we master the pass, we will trek down to the picturesque Nho Que River. You can always hop on a boat ride with me here, or experience the river closely by kayaking or trying out SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding). The water is pristine, and impressive limestone walls rise from each side of the river creating a peaceful but also majestic setting. Spend a reasonable amount of time just absorbing the peace and beauty of such an incredible landscape.
3:30 PM:
After our river journey, we’ll return to the hotel, and you’ll have some free time to relax or explore. You can explore the local markets, buy handicrafts, or just chill.
6:30 PM:
You’ll have dinner together, getting more of a taste of the area’s delicious local cuisine. Then take some time to relax, reflecting on the best moments of the day.

Our last day begins with an early breakfast and we head toward the form of nature deemed the most stunning of Meo Vac the Tu San Gorge. This is the deepest gorge in Southeast Asia, and as we boat our way through the river, 800-meter-high cliffs will surround you, rising poignantly. That silence and the scale of the gorge are rightfully humbling, and I’ll take you through the compelling bit of geological history that explains this natural wonder. The boat ride itself is a highlight in its own right, and I’ll ensure you have plenty of time to soak in the scenery.

Then we go to one of Meo Vac’s lovely Lo Lo villages. The Lo Lo people have preserved their culture for centuries, and here you’ll see the distinctive clothes and crafts that reflect their life below the radar. We’ll walk around the village as I tell you about their culture, daily life, and the unique skills they’ve honed and passed through generations.
1:00 PM:
On our way returning to Hanoi, we stop briefly at a local store where you can buy some of the best souvenirs from Ha Giang including Lung Phin tea, local honey, and handicrafts made by the Lo Lo and Mong people. They are something to remind you of the trip.
4:00 PM:
We’ll end the day with a leisurely road back to Hanoi, where you can reminisce about the spectacular trip through Ha Giang and Meo Vac. The trip might be coming to a close, but the experiences will last a lifetime.
