Travel in Bac Me entails traveling through rural and mountainous areas, and one must therefore be prepared. Drinking water is a necessity, and when hiking, one must have a refillable water bottle, and for naturally collected sources, purification tablets will work perfectly.
Dressing in layers will enable you to adapt to the changing weather in the mountains, which can become warm and then cold in a matter of a few hours. Don’t rush when hiking, particularly when not at high elevation, in case you become dizzy.
Also, have regard for locally prevailing customs. Never photograph locals initially, and when visiting Tay stilted homesteads, don’t forget to remove your shoes when entering a homestead. Lastly, driving yourself or taking a locally guided tour, exercise caution when driving over winding mountainous routes.
