Let the Saigon Show Tours introduce you to the sumptuous artistic life of Vietnam!

History and Architectural Significance of Ho Chi Minh Opera House

The Ho Chi Minh Opera House is an imposing structure reflecting French colonial design and was built by French architects in 1898. It has stunningly grand Gothic and Renaissance influences, with delicate ornamentation on its façade, complex arches, and chandeliers inside to reflect the elegance of the late 19th century. Saying that it stands probably as one of the most iconic landmarks of French and Vietnamese culture combined and says a lot about the rich artistic heritage of history.

By nature grand, the Ho Chi Minh Opera House is just the right setting for Saigon Show Tours. It provides the A O Show and The Mist with their due grandeur. Its historical value and architectural loveliness ensure that its shows are an unforgettable experience for locals and visitors alike, hence a highlight of our Ho Chi Minh Tours.

The Art and Performances of Saigon Show Tours

A O Show in Saigon Show Tours

A O Show

Welcome to the heart of Saigon Show Tours, where every performance narrates a story and every show is a window into the very soul of Vietnam! Let’s get underway with the incredible lineup that makes our tours truly memorable:

A O Show: A Tribute to Rural Vietnam

Then the A O Show mesmerizes you with a mix of contemporary circus performances using bamboo props, traditional music of Vietnam, and dynamic choreography. It mirrors life in rural Vietnam, taking you through its villages, fields, and waterways. Imagine the sound of folk instruments, complemented by the introduction of simple, day-to-day items like bamboo from performing actors, culminating in an amazing display of visual wonder. It is a charming tribute to Vietnamese village life in all its stark beauty; hence, a must on your Ho Chi Minh Tour itinerary.

The Mist: Celebrating Vietnam’s Rice Culture

Next is The Mist, which is a beautiful dance representing the rice culture and agricultural traditions of Vietnam. The performance epitomizes the Farmers’ day from misty morning to vibrancy during harvest time, containing traditional and modern forms of dance, making this a beautiful ceremonial spectacle paying homage to each hour of labor and commitment emerging from communities involving agriculture in Vietnam. This show would be one of the best highlights of our Saigon Show Tours to reel connected with the roots of Vietnamese culture.

Classy ambiance, flawless acoustics, and world-class performances. It is truly an event that combines the best of both worlds: classical music and the rich cultural scene of Vietnam.

Teh Dar Show: Exploring Vietnam’s Ethnic Minority Culture

Finally, there is the Teh Dar Show-sketching new dimensions in Vietnam’s ethnic minority culture. This show takes you to the highlands with acrobatics, bamboo circus techniques, and a contemporary visual stage. You will have firsthand knowledge of traditions, rituals, and myths that help identify the country’s indigenous people. Energy-charged and poignant, the Teh Dar Show brings into relief the diversity and beauty of the nation’s ethnic heritage.

Essential Tips for Participating in Saigon Show Tours

Dress Code and Etiquette

It may be taken that the Ho Chi Minh Opera House is a symbol of sophistication, so it is fitting to dress accordingly while attending the Saigon Show Tours. We do suggest you wear smart or smart casual attire. Consider this an experience when you will be royalty for the night! Do not wear very casual attire, such as flip-flops, shorts, or T-shirts. Also, dressing up adds to your experience and is a form of respect toward the performers and all that comes with it culturally.

Booking and Tickets

It is easy and convenient to book tickets for the Saigon Show Tours with Impress Travel. We would like to recommend that you book in advance since shows are often sold out, particularly during peak seasons. The evening is the best time to visit the city because it seems to shine even more, making the beauty of the Opera House more magical. The main goal here is to arrive 15-30 minutes in advance. This would be ample time wherein one could view the Opera House, take photos, and generally soak in the pre-show atmosphere.

Navigating the City

Ho Chi Minh Opera House is easy to reach, whether using private transport or public means. For those who would want to use private means, taxis and ride-hailing services such as Grab are the most common. If you want to travel like a local, you can use public buses! Routes such as 02, 03, 19, 45, and 53 all pass through the city center and have stops near the Opera House. However you decide to travel, the central place of the Opera House makes for an easy and picturesque destination on your Ho Chi Minh City Tours.

Photography and Souvenirs

We know that you will want to capture every moment of your Saigon Show Tours, so remember to respect your photography etiquette. You are welcome to take photos before and after the show; however, please refrain from taking pictures during the performance out of respect for the artists and your fellow audience members. For optimal photo opportunities, plan to arrive early to photograph the beautiful Opera House façade or take post-show pictures with the performers. Take home part of this magical experience by purchasing a souvenir related to the show-either it’s a beautifully crafted program booklet or local handicrafts available in nearby shops.

  • War Remnants Museum: Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes, this is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the ‘Requiem’ exhibit is particularly touching, dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict. The courtyard outside contains the spoils of war, namely rusting jets, tanks and cannons captured from the American military machine.
  • Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office: Built between 1877 and 1883 this is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Remarkably every stone used in its creation was shipped from France to Vietnam. Her two 40m towers, topped with iron spires dominate the city’s skyline. The Old Post Office is another example of French colonial architecture and is also the country’s largest post office.
  • Jade Emperor Pagoda: Building in 1909 in honor of the supreme Taoist god, this is one of the most spectacularly atmospheric temples in HCMC, stuffed with statues of phantasmal divinities and grotesque heroes. The pungent smoke of incense fills the air, obscuring the exquisite woodcarvings.
  • Cu Chi Tunnels: Watch a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. Also, on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those interested there’s even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range
