Day 1: Arrival in Vientiane
Welcome to Laos. Upon arrival at Wattay International Airport, you will meet our local representative and transfer by private vehicle to your hotel in central Vientiane.
Although it is the national capital, Vientiane maintains a relaxed atmosphere with tree-lined streets, Buddhist monasteries, riverside cafés and distinctive French colonial influences. After checking in, you will enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. You may relax at the hotel, walk along the Mekong River or explore the nearby cafés and local restaurants independently.

Day 2: Vientiane Heritage Tour – Transfer to Vang Vieng
After having breakfast, you will begin a guided exploration of Vientiane’s religious and historic landmarks. Firstly, you will visit Wat Sisaket, the oldest surviving temple in the capital. Distinguished by its cloister walls displaying thousands of miniature Buddha images.
Next, you continue traveling to Ho Phra Keo, formerly the royal temple that housed the revered Emerald Buddha. Today, the building serves as a museum showcasing Lao and Khmer religious art. The tour then proceeds to Pha That Luang, the magnificent golden stupa regarded as Laos’ most important national and spiritual monument.
Conclude the city tour at Patuxay, the capital’s triumphal arch. You will climb to its upper level for panoramic views over Vientiane’s boulevards and surrounding neighborhoods.
In the afternoon, travel by private vehicle to Vang Vieng. After checking in, you will take a short-guided walk to a scenic viewpoint overlooking limestone karsts, green fields and the Nam Song River. Or pausing to enjoy the changing colors of sunset before returning to town.

Day 3: Khmu Village Cultural Experience
Following your breakfast, you will depart from Vang Vieng by local tuk-tuk and continue toward the Nam Song River. Traveling through peaceful countryside surrounded by rice fields and dramatic limestone formations before arriving at a traditional Khmu community.
Here, you will meet a village blacksmith who continues to use techniques passed down through generations. You also have a chance to observe the production process and, when conditions allow, try a simple part of the craft under the artisan’s guidance.
Then, you will continue traveling to the home of a local Khmu family for a traditional lunch. This friendly encounter offers an opportunity to learn about Khmu customs, family life and the animist beliefs that continue to influence village traditions.
In the afternoon, you will discover how villagers prepare Lao Hai, a fermented rice wine traditionally enjoyed through long bamboo straws. Walking through rice paddies and agricultural land to a nearby cave, stopping at a farm shelter to discuss the importance of rice cultivation in rural Lao society.
Returning to Vang Vieng in the late afternoon and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Day 4: High-Speed Train to Luang Prabang – Cultural Landmarks
You will enjoy breakfast at the hotel before transferring to Vang Vieng Railway Station. Boarding the high-speed train for the comfortable journey to Luang Prabang.
Upon arrival, you will meet our local guide and begin exploring this UNESCO World Heritage city, beautifully positioned between the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers.
Firstly, you start visiting at the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum. Its collection includes royal possessions, diplomatic gifts, religious artifacts and the revered Prabang Buddha image from which the city takes its name.
Then, you continue traveling to the Heuan Chan Heritage House, a carefully preserved traditional residence presenting Lao domestic life and architecture. Afterwards, you will visit Wat Xieng Thong, one of the country’s most celebrated monasteries. You will admire its sweeping roofs, intricate carvings and famous Tree of Life mosaic.
Conclude the afternoon at the Ock Pop Tok Living Crafts Centre, where skilled artisans demonstrate silk weaving, natural dyeing, batik and bamboo craftsmanship. You will enjoy the peaceful riverside setting before returning to your hotel.

Day 5: Tak Bat Ceremony – Village Hike – Kuang Si Waterfalls
Rising early to respectfully observe Tak Bat, Luang Prabang’s sacred morning alms-giving ceremony. Lines of saffron-robed monks walk silently through the streets while residents offer rice and other food. Then, you will continue to visit the morning market to see local produce and ingredients before returning to the hotel for breakfast.
Later, our drive will take you to the countryside to Ban Nong Heo, a Khmu village surrounded by farmland and forested hills. Walking through the community and observe traditional homes, livestock and daily rural activities.
Next, you will begin a gentle countryside hike through forests, plantations and sugarcane fields. The trail leads toward Ban Thapene and the spectacular Kuang Si Waterfalls. You will spend your time to explore the forest paths and admiring the multi-tiered cascades and turquoise pools. Swimming may be possible in designated areas, depending on local conditions.
In the afternoon, you will visit a village specializing in traditional Sa paper, handmade from mulberry bark. Or watching local artisans transform natural fibers into decorative paper products before returning to Luang Prabang.

Day 6: Rural Traditions – Pak Ou Caves – Mekong River Cruise
After your breakfast, you will travel through the countryside to Ban Muang Keo, a peaceful village known for its traditional crafts and proximity to the Mekong River. Moreover, you can also join local residents in learning how decorative floral offerings are prepared for Buddhist ceremonies and important community occasions.
Next, you will visit a nearby temple and, subject to the monks’ availability, receive a traditional blessing. You will continue traveling through another rural community to observe everyday village life before stopping at a scenic riverside location.
Then, you will enjoy a traditional Lao lunch overlooking the Mekong, followed by locally grown coffee or tea. In the afternoon, you will take a short forest walk to the revered Pak Ou Caves. The two limestone caverns contain thousands of Buddha images left by pilgrims over many generations.
After exploring the caves, you will board a local boat for a relaxing cruise downstream to Luang Prabang. Watching riverside villages, cultivated fields and forested hills pass by as the boat follows the Mekong.

Day 7: Train from Luang Prabang to Oudomxay
You will have breakfast at hotel, you will transfer to Luang Prabang Railway Station and board the train to Oudomxay, a mountainous northern province known for its ethnic diversity and forest landscapes.
Upon arrival, you will continue traveling by road to the peaceful surroundings of Nam Kat Yorla Pa, an eco-tourism area set beside the Nam Kat River and protected woodland. Then, you will check in and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure.
After that, you may relax amid the natural surroundings, walk around the resort grounds or select an optional activity offered locally. The quiet environment provides a refreshing contrast to the historic streets of Luang Prabang.

Day 8: Ikhos and Hmong Mountain Communities
After your breakfast, you will meet our local guide and travel into the mountains to visit remote ethnic communities. As the road climbs above 1,000 meters, you will enjoy extensive views of forested hills, valleys and highland farms.
The first visit is to an Ikhos village, whose people trace their ancestry to Tibet and China’s Yunnan region. Here, you can learn about their traditional houses, agricultural practices, clothing and community customs. The relative isolation of the area has helped preserve many distinctive aspects of their culture.
Next, you will enjoy a picnic-style local lunch amid the mountain scenery. Afterwards, continue to a Hmong community to gain further insight into highland life. Especially, you have a chance to meet local residents and learn about their cultural heritage, family traditions. As well as farming activities and close relationship with livestock.
Depending on weather and trail conditions, you will take a short walk to a panoramic viewpoint before returning to the resort in the late afternoon.

Day 9: Nam Kat Forest Walk – Return to Luang Prabang
After enjoying breakfast, you will travel to the starting point of a guided forest adventure. Following a jungle trail through lush woodland, cross suspended bridges and walk beside streams as you make your way toward a secluded waterfall.
Upon reaching the falls, you will enjoy your time to rest in the natural surroundings. A refreshing swim may be possible when water levels and local safety conditions permit. Returning along a different path, completing a scenic forest circuit.
In the afternoon, you will transfer to Oudomxay Railway Station for the train journey back to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, you will meet our driver and continue traveling to the hotel for checking-in. The evening is free for relaxation, independent dining or last-minute shopping at the night market.

Day 10: Luang Prabang – Departure
Enjoying your final breakfast at the hotel. Depending on the scheduled departure time, you may have an opportunity to explore Luang Prabang independently, purchase local handicrafts or relax at a riverside café.
Then, you will check out of the hotel and transfer by private vehicle to Luang Prabang International Airport for your onward flight. Your memorable 10-day cultural journey through northern Laos concludes upon arrival at the airport.
