Your first destination is the magnificent Grand Palace, the former residence of the Kings of Thailand and one of the country’s most important architectural complexes. Within the palace grounds, visit Wat Phra Kaew, also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The temple houses Thailand’s most revered Buddha image and remains an important spiritual symbol of the nation.

Then, you continue going to Wat Pho, one of Bangkok’s oldest temples and home to the enormous gold-covered Reclining Buddha. The temple is also recognized as an important center for traditional Thai massage and medicine.

The morning concludes with a visit to Wat Traimit, where you can admire the impressive Golden Buddha, a remarkable solid-gold statue with a fascinating history.

In the afternoon, board a traditional long-tail boat for a scenic journey along the Chao Phraya River and Bangkok’s network of historic canals. Observe riverside temples, traditional wooden houses and scenes of everyday local life that contrast with the city’s modern skyline.

Day 3: Bangkok – Maeklong Railway Market – Damnoen Saduak – Kanchanaburi

You will have an early breakfast at hotel, then departing Bangkok and travel southwest to the remarkable Maeklong Railway Market.

This traditional market is uniquely positioned along an active railway line. Watch as vendors quickly retract their awnings and move their products away from the tracks when the train approaches, before returning everything to its original position moments later. Take time to photograph the market and sample local Thai snacks.

Next, you continue visiting to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, one of Thailand’s most colorful and iconic markets. Board a motorized boat and travel through narrow waterways lined with traditional houses, fruit plantations and local communities.

At the market, observe vendors selling tropical fruits, Thai dishes, handicrafts and souvenirs directly from their wooden boats.

After the market visit, continue to Kanchanaburi, a peaceful riverside destination known for its dramatic natural scenery and World War II history.

Upon arrival, visit the JEATH War Museum and the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, which commemorate the prisoners of war and forced laborers who lost their lives during the construction of the Thailand–Burma Railway.
