Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 01

Hanoi – Halong Bay – Lan Ha Bay – Kayaking Adventure

Your three-day adventure begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Traveling towards the coast by comfortable vehicle, passing through the countryside and agricultural landscapes of the Red River Delta.

Upon arrival at the marina, you will complete the check-in procedures before transferring to your cruise. Then receiving a warm welcome from the crew, listen to a short safety briefing, and settle into your private cabin.

Lunch is served in the onboard restaurant as the vessel begins cruising through Halong Bay. From the dining room or open-air deck, you can admire the extraordinary scenery of limestone towers rising dramatically from the calm, green water.

In the afternoon, the cruise enters a quieter kayaking area in Halong or Lan Ha Bay. After receiving paddling instructions and safety equipment, you will set out with your guide to explore the landscape at water level. Navigating between rocky islets, pass beneath natural limestone arches, and enter a sheltered lagoon when tidal and weather conditions permit.

The calm water and enclosed surroundings make this an excellent introduction to sea kayaking. Along the way, you will look for native vegetation growing on the cliffs and watch for monkeys or seabirds around the forested islands.

Afterward, you will return to the cruise and enjoy time to shower or relax on the sundeck. As sunset spreads across the bay, you may join an onboard cooking demonstration and learn how to prepare a simple Vietnamese speciality.

Dinner is served in the evening. Next, you will unwind with a drink, try squid fishing, or simply appreciate the silence and star-filled sky from the deck.

Meals: Lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Overnight aboard the cruise
Activities: Scenic cruising, kayaking and optional cooking demonstration

Day 02

Viet Hai Village – Cycling – Ba Trai Dao Kayaking and Swimming

You will begin the morning with an optional Tai Chi session on the sundeck while the first light appears over the limestone islands. Afterwards, you will enjoy breakfast in the restaurant as the cruise continues towards Cat Ba Island.

Next, you will transfer to a smaller day boat and travel deeper into Lan Ha Bay. Arriving near Viet Hai Village, a quiet rural community situated within the green landscapes of Cat Ba National Park.

From the pier, you will cycle along a peaceful route through a narrow valley surrounded by forested mountains. The journey passes caves, small farms, rice fields, and traditional houses before reaching the village. For travellers who prefer not to cycle may usually choose an electric cart, subject to the cruise arrangement.

Besides, you can spend time walking through Viet Hai and discovering the community’s relaxed way of life. You also meet local residents, learn about traditional farming practices, and enjoy the atmosphere of one of Cat Ba Island’s most secluded settlements.

Next, you will return to the day boat and enjoy lunch while cruising towards Ba Trai Dao, whose name means “Three Peaches”. This scenic area is known for its curved limestone formations, clear water, and small sandy beaches.

In the afternoon, you will embark on another kayaking excursion. Paddling around the islets and explore calm channels, sheltered coves, and rocky formations shaped by the sea. Depending on the tide and local conditions, there may also be time to swim or relax on a secluded beach.

Later, you will return to the main cruise. Refreshing in your cabin or enjoy the sunset from the upper deck before dinner. Then spending your second evening relaxing in the peaceful surroundings of the bay.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Accommodation: Overnight aboard the cruise
Activities: Cycling or electric-cart ride, village visit, kayaking and swimming

Day 03

Dark and Bright Cave – Final Kayaking Experience – Hanoi

In the morning, you will wake up early for another optional Tai Chi session. Or enjoying a quiet moment on deck as the cruise sails between the limestone islands. A light breakfast is served before the morning excursion.

Next, you will travel to visit the Dark and Bright Cave area, one of Lan Ha Bay’s most atmospheric natural attractions. Here, limestone tunnels connect the open bay with tranquil interior lagoons enclosed by towering cliffs.

Depending on the tide, weather, and local management conditions, you will explore the area by kayak or traditional bamboo boat. Paddling gently beneath the rock arch and enter the hidden lagoon, where calm water reflects the cliffs and dense vegetation overhead. So, this peaceful excursion provides a memorable final encounter with the bay’s remarkable geology.

Then, you will return to the cruise and check out of your cabin. Enjoying brunch or an early lunch while the vessel makes its leisurely journey back towards the marina. Afterward, you will take this final opportunity to photograph the limestone scenery from the deck.

After disembarkation, you will meet our driver for the return transfer to Hanoi. Arriving in the city during the afternoon, it will marks the end of your immersive three-day kayaking exploration.
