Way to go there?

+ Route: Where is Hoang Phap Pagoda? In which district is Hoang Phap Pagoda? The temple is located in Hoc Mon and about 20km from the center of District 1. To get to Hoang Phap Pagoda, follow Nguyen Van Troi Street, go to Cong Hoa and then go to Truong Chinh. Continue along Highway 22 and you will see the temple on the right side of the road.

+ By bus: To get to Hoang Phap pagoda, you can take bus number 04, 13, 74, 94.

+ Traveling by motorbike: If you are near Hoang Phap Pagoda, you can travel by motorbike or rent a car in the center of Saigon to move yourself. Motorbike rental in Saigon is about 50,000 – 180,000 VND/car/day.

History:

+ In 1957, the late Venerable Ngo Chan Tu founded Hoang Phap Pagoda. The temple was built on a bud forest.

+ In 1959, the pagoda began to be built with nail bricks. Hoang Phap pagoda faces northwest.

+ In 1965, the war broke out, the late monk Ngo Chan Tu received 60 families to take care of within 8 months.

+ In 1968, this monk founded Duc Anh Institute. This place welcomes 365 children from 6 to 10 years old to raise.

+ In 1971, Venerable Ngo Chan Tu built a front hall with a length of 28m. This is a place to worship and preach.

+ After April 30, 1975, children at the temple were received by their relatives. Hoang Phap Pagoda welcomes families with difficult circumstances and lonely elderly people to take care of.

+ In 1988, Venerable Ngo Chan Tu passed away. Disciple Thich Chan Tinh became the abbot until now.

+ In 1995, the temple rebuilt the main hall.

+ In 1999, the pagoda organized a Buddhist retreat that took place in 7 days and 7 nights with about 70 people attending.

+ In 2005, Hoang Phap Pagoda organized a summer retreat for students. The courses still take place regularly to this day.

Architecture:

When learning about Hoang Phap pagoda where, you will see right outside Hoang Phap pagoda is Tam Quan gate. The main gate has the words “Hoang Phap Pagoda". Two side gates: the right side gate is the word “Wisdom", the left side gate is the word “Compassion". Along the Tam Quan gate are couplets written in Vietnamese.

The architecture of the temple gate is a unique harmony between tradition and modernity. The stylized curves are somewhat more angular than the traditional temple gates. Above the roof of the gate of Hoang Phap pagoda, there are two floors covered with red tiles. Each blade is gently curved.

Ho Chi Minh City tour & Cu Chi Tunnels (B,L)

Visit the most attractive places in Ho Chi Minh City: The Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, The Reunification Palace, The War Remnants Museum, Ben Thanh market.
Have lunch, then transfer to visit Cu Chi Tunnels. First, we watch a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels. Also, on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500-pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those interested, there’s even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range

Day 03

Ho Chi Minh city – Mekong delta – Can Tho (B, L)

A two hour’s drive from Ho Chi Minh city to My Tho
Taking a sampan cruise along the tributaries of the Mekong River for a close-up view of local life.
Wandering through Islands and orchards where you can taste some of the huge variety of tropical fruits and listening to traditional music.
Having a local lunch then riding a bicycle around the local village. Taking a sampan back to the harbor for the 2 hour drive to Can Tho city
Checking in to our hotel and then the evening is free to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 04

Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh city (B, L)

We start the boat trip before 08:00 am otherwise we may not see the busiest and most exciting time on the floating market. We will take a boat trip and explore the vibrant floating market of Cai Rang, where the way of trading is unique; each boat usually sells one particular item, whether it be pumpkins, pineapples or sugar canes, etc.
We lunch at a local restaurant on the way back to Saigon via My Tho

Day 05

HO CHI MINH– FAREWELL ( B )

Enjoy your time at leisure.
