Established in 1942, Buu Long Pagoda, also known as To Dinh Buu Long Zen Monastery, is the temple with the most prominent Thai architecture in Saigon. Architecture:
Buu Long Pagoda in District 9 was first built in 1942, then restored and repaired over the years from 2007 to 2011. Through many events, the pagoda still retains its original unique architecture. ancient temple. Currently, the pagoda includes the following areas: campus, main hall, main hall, monks’ quarters, and amphitheater.
This place is still known by the locals with the familiar name of Thai temple because of the colorful architecture of the Golden Temple. The idea of designing Buu Long Pagoda was inspired by monk Vien Minh based on the original Buddhist architecture originating from India. Arriving here, visitors can’t help but be impressed by the unique Buddhist architecture with the harmonious combination between the original Buddhist architecture and the colors of Vietnamese culture.
Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Saigon, coming to Buu Long Pagoda, you feel like you are in the midst of green nature with a pure and peaceful space. The 11-hectare campus is covered with many green leaves.
Along the entrance are rows of straight trees that add to the majesty and magnificence of the temple. In the middle of the campus, is a large turquoise lake, surrounded by elaborate carved borders. Adding a unique feature to the large campus is the looming shape of the hill to the west of the magnificent Dong Nai River.

How to go?
Option 1: How to go to Buu Long Pagoda from the direction of Thu Duc intersection
Visitors turn right into Le Van Viet and go about 4.5km to the end of the road. Here, when you see My Thanh T-junction, turn right onto Nguyen Van Tang. Continue going for another 2km, meet the right turn, which is also Nguyen Xien street, but don’t turn in but keep going straight. When you see Nguyen Van Tang High School, you notice that it’s about 1km to see Buu Long Pagoda
Option 2: Go to the temple in the direction of Thu Thiem tunnel
From Thu Thiem tunnel, visitors go straight to Mai Chi Tho Boulevard. Then turn right to Nguyen Thi Dinh, go about 700m, then turn left on Nguyen Duy Trinh. Run all the way to Nguyen Xien, continue to run all the way to Nguyen Xien then turn right, run about 3km more will come to the address of Buu Long pagoda in District 9.
Option 3: Visit the pagoda from Suoi Tien point
From Thu Duc intersection, visitors go straight in the direction of Hanoi Highway to Suoi Tien. From here, you run another 2.5km and meet the new road fork, then turn in and run all the way. Run all the way, you will meet Nguyen Xien Street, then turn right through Dong Tron bridge. Continue to go about 700m, you will see Buu Long Pagoda in District 9 on the right side of the road..
