Good morning, travelers! Our adventure starts early—right at 6:00 AM. We will meet at the Impress Travel office, located at 12 Hang Gai Street, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. Here, we embark on a comfortable bus and drive to Lao Cai, offering scenic views of Northern Vietnamese countryside scenes on our way to charming Sapa.
At 12:00 pm, we will arrive in the beautiful town of Sapa, where our local guide will warmly welcome us. From there, transfer to Ta Phin village—a beautiful village located in the heart of the mountains, famous for its outstanding Red Dao community. The address is Ta Phin Village, Ta Phin Commune, Sapa District, Lao Cai Province.
Check in at a local cozy homestay by 12:30 PM to get enough hospitality from the Red Dao. Check-in is followed by lunch with traditional North-Western Vietnamese cuisine. Get ready to indulge your taste buds in local authenticity!
Our cultural adventure starts at 2:00 PM. You are going to get an in-depth look at the unique culture of the Red Dao people, in which you will learn about its very fascinating customs, particularly about its world-famous traditional herbal baths. After the introduction, we’re going to take a guided trek up the mountains for some of the medicinal herbs used for these therapeutic baths. This educational trek, part and parcel of it might grant you great views of the surrounding landscapes.
Return to the village by 4:00 PM and soak in a homemade herbal bath preparation, a rare experience. We will explain the process and several health remedies associated with this age-old practice. Just imagine soaking in the hot wooden tub filled with fragrant herbal water and soaking up the soothing and rejuvenating effects of hand-picked herbs. It’s the perfect way to relax after our trek.
Dinner is at 6:30 PM and will feature a variety of local foods that will be deliciously amazing for your taste buds. After dinner, at 8:00 PM, you have the opportunity to join the cultural exchange program with the Red Dao community (pay locally). This, without doubt, provides an opportunity to interact with the natives and experience traditional music and dance, along with an understanding of their life patterns. Finally, we will retire for the night to our homestay or community guesthouse to rest and prepare ourselves for another set of adventures the next day.

The day will start at 7:00 AM with a local breakfast taken at the homestay. After the meal, we check out and get ready for just another eventful day that awaits ahead.
8:00 AM: Stop by the Ancient Monastery in Ta Phin Commune, Sapa District, Lao Cai Province. This is an extremely local and famous historical site constructed during the French colonial period. Though it was abandoned for more than half a century, the monastery still fascinates visitors with its beauty and puzzles of ancient architecture in Europe.
9:00 AM Start the day with a visit to some local houses of the Red Dao people. This tour will give you an insight into the daily life, traditions, and history of this resilient ethnic tribe. You’ll get to see firsthand the intricate embroidery and handicrafts for which the Red Dao is famous.
By 10:00 AM, we will have returned to Sapa Town for more sightseeing. You can visit some of the famous places of Cat Cat Village, magnificent Fansipan Mountain, or Ham Rong Tourist Area at an additional cost. All are experiences with great views and viewpoints; thus, well worth it.
Lunch is taken at 12:00 PM at a local restaurant in Sapa, then some free time for relaxation and shopping. You can take this opportunity to buy souvenirs, walk around the town, or just relax and ponder over experiences.
Our drive back to Hanoi is at 2:00 PM. After getting on the bus, we head to the city, recalling all of the unforgettable memories that we have experienced during our tour. By 8:00 PM, we shall be back at our starting point in Hanoi, culminating our marvelous tour.
