Today is a full day to explore Phnom Penh, the vibrant capital of Cambodia. We will visit the city’s most important landmarks, offering valuable insights into Cambodia’s history and culture.

Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy an excursion to Tonle Bati, located about 40 km from Phnom Penh. Here you will explore two ancient Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm and Yeay Poev, before returning for lunch.

Afternoon: Continue to the poignant Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, followed by the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, where prisoners from Security Prison 21 were executed. Though somber, these visits are essential to understanding Cambodia’s resilience and progress in the years since. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Afternoon: Begin your exploration of the magnificent Angkor complex. Our tour starts at Angkor Thom, the former capital of the Khmer Empire (802–1350 AD). Highlights include the South Gate with its impressive stone-carved faces, the Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King. We then visit the architectural masterpiece of Angkor Wat, strolling through its vast galleries, libraries, pavilions, courtyards, and reflective pools that capture the grandeur of this world-famous monument.

Evening: Free time at leisure and overnight in Siem Reap.

Morning: Continue your journey through the Angkor Complex with a visit to the jungle-clad Ta Prohm, where massive fig trees and twisting roots entwine with the temple’s stone structures, creating an atmosphere of nature reclaiming man’s creation. Nearby, explore other remarkable temples such as Banteay Kdei, Srah Srang, Ta Keo, Thommanon, and Chau Say Tevoda—collectively known as the “Small Circuit” by archaeologists.

Afternoon: Move on to the “Grand Circuit” to discover additional treasures including Preah Khan, Kravan, Neak Pean, Krol Ko, Ta Som, East Mebon, and Pre Rup. Conclude the day with a walk up Phnom Bakheng Hill, where you will witness a spectacular sunset casting golden light over the ancient temples.

This morning, enjoy a boat excursion on Tonle Sap Lake before your onward flight. Depending on your travel plan, you will either return home or continue to your next destination. Morning: After breakfast, visit the famous Tonle Sap Lake, one of the largest freshwater bodies in Southeast Asia. A traditional boat ride takes you along a small river into the vast lake, where you can observe floating villages and experience the daily life of local fishermen and families. Children paddling in small boats and fishermen pulling in their morning catch offer a vivid glimpse of authentic life on the water. (Please note this excursion depends on your flight departure time.) Afterward, transfer to Siem Reap Airport for your departure flight.
